Transfering a design pattern from online to the PED Basic program

I have an HP with windows XP with a new PED Basic. It was doing fine for awhile but now it will not transfer patterns from online to the program. Win 32 and pes is not acceptable are most of the notes. Have tried to cut & paste, transfer . It does sometimes download but does not transfer to the sewing machine to embroider. Hope you have some solutions for me. Thanks

    ped basic modular not connected

  • Anonymous Mar 24, 2014

I recently manually reinstalled my PED Basic into my new computer because I had version 1.0, and needed to install 1.7. It got me wondering whether I can view the embroidery designs using just my PED Basic without using the Embrilliance Thumbnailer program that I also purchased and installed on my computer.
When I am reviewing my designs that I've downloaded, I get a question on my computer, "how do you want to view this" and apparently, I have Adobe IV and that window always opens to list that it cannot open the design. Is there a setting in the PED Basic program that I can adjust so that my computer can open the images without using the "Embrilliance Thumbnailer" program which I also have installed on my computer. I have a friend who has the 1.0 Version of PED Basic also, and I don't want her to purchase another program to view the embroidery designs if we can each just use our PED Basic programs more efficiently. Thank you, Betty

Have you tried saving them to your documents after you have extracted the file first. What size are the patterns. If they are too big they will not transfer properly.

I am not sure the program has downloaded on Windows 7. The embroidery designs will not move there--

Sometimes embroidery files download in ZIP format.Check your download folder, and double click on the downloaded file. windows shoukd extract it into a folder of its own. open that folder and the .pes files should be in it. Then open the Brother program to access that folder with the .pes files.

My Brother SE 270D will not read my Ped Basic memory card. I used this card several times before without problems

Usually this indicates a design larger than 4x4. Check the design on you PED Basic to see what size it is and then use a sizer program to shrink it if that is the problem.

Brother PED-Basic Driver?

Dear Kooks57, you have not deleted your designs, the program, card reader and card you purchased are for downloading designs from the internet or a computer. You will find free designs all over the internet including Brothers site. To use the reader you will download your designs from the internet or another card with designs on it and put them in a specific folder on your computer, then you can tell the Basic program to seach that folder and move the designs you want to the card in the reader. Once the designs have been moved to the card you can use it in your machine. Hope this helps if you need more help please follow the user instructions step by step and it should get you where you want to go, See page 8 in the manual.
