couple of reasons
have a compression test done to determine head gasket or cracked head
watch closely when the over heating starts and if it cools down
it the temp rises when going slow ( heavy traffic, hard pulling up hills , stop lights -- basically when the road speed is low and there is low/no air through the radiator-- check for a faulty fan clutch or viscous fan hub failure ( spins but doesn't pull air )
check for thermostat failure and not opening if from a cold start it is going to over heat within 5 miles of 10 minutes of idling
check for blocked radiator(internal)cores or radiator fins (external) falling off the cores
The first point of call for me would be the fan drive system

With everything you have i would look at power supply and see if you have enough power supply to operate video card motherboard etc.
Power supply could be overloaded and not able to operate video card correctly.
Which could cause issues with trying to run 2 or 3 monitors

The Ungar we use at work was working just fine. Tried turning it on after only a short time of usage to shrink some shrink on a cable and she wouldn't fire up. Pulled her apart and can't see any really...


When testing a diode you need to lift one end of the component to prevent a second path of continuity. If you lift one end, and you have continuity in both directions when reversing the polarity, it would be shorted or defective. Does your Fluke have a Diode or Semiconductor setting? This will show you the voltage drop for the N/P junction which will be a better test than using the Ohm setting. If the diodes check good, test the motor windings, switch and heating element.

3 red lights fan works for a few seconds then stops.


If adjusting the screws on the heat sinks and using different size washers does not fix the problems you will need to reflow the motherboard. The absolute best reflow is performed using a rework station, although these are so expensive they are out of the realm of most hobbyists. I have a repair shop with a station if you want to be sure. I'll give you instructions on a possibly cheaper alternative, I fixed a bunch using this method when I first started way back in the early Xbox days.

You can also reflow using an oven or a heat gun. I've had better success with the heat gun.
The goal here is to heat the chips to about 260 C, the problem with the heat gun is it is a very imprecise method... Surprisingly though if done correctly it can work quite well. I must warn you though that if done incorrectly it could damage the MB beyond repair. I will give instructions below, let me know if you have any questions.

Essentially you will need to cover the outside of the board, including all the plastic capacitors with 5-10 layers of thick tin foil. You want to leave the CPU, GPU, RAM chips, and southbridge exposed for reflow. Put the foil on gently so as not to bend the capacitors, but firmly enough so it does not get blown off by the heat gun. Put the motherboard on a flat non-flammable surface.
Take your heat gun and start on low holding the heat gun about 4-5 inches away from the board. You cannot bump into or touch the motherboard during this process, you are basically liquefying the solder balls in between the SMDs. If you bump the board it will seriously mess it up so be careful.
You will want to move in a circular motion heating the board up evenly, do not stop moving the heatgun in the horizontal circular motion above the motherboard during this whole process. Do this for 2 minutes, then switch the heatgun to high and continue for 3 minutes, then switch back to low and go for 2 minutes. Keep the heatgun moving across the top of the board the whole time about 4-5 inches away. After you are done let the board sit for about an hour. Reassemble and test it out! Hopefully you will be greeted by the wonderful green lights! Haha.

My xbox 360 stopped working with no video & audio. Replaced X-clamp. Now it starts (with no video & audio) and fan runs and after 10 seconds fan get louder and shows 2 red (left) light and fan...


i have only been able to fix one console that has had this problem and is what i did was took only the gpu heatsink off and covered everything but the gpu chip with aluminum foil, leaving only exposed the components that are not plastic, then heated the entire mother board with a heatgun that says it reaches 1100 degrees farenheight, focusing on no particular area for 2 min, heat gun on high with low air speed. after 2 mins. of heating mobo. top and bottom, focus heat on gpu and any where you do not have aluminum foil with heat gun about 14 to 16 inches away moving heat gun in circular motion ( you should use this motion throughout entire process, never keep heat gun in one spot, keep it moving) do this also for 2 mins. mainly focus on gpu though since most likely that is your problem.

No, it should only turn on when the temperature switch tells it to. On a hot day you may hear it running even after shutting off the engine. The fan is set up so that when you are moving at enough speed the fan shuts off to save energy, when you slow down or stop the fan should come on to maintain airflow. If you check it at this point yes it should be running. When you start it cold the fan will not turn on for maybe 10 or more seconds when the engine starts to warm up. Hope this helps.

Things to be concered about; 1.) the fan never seems to turn on. This will cause your engine to overheat when you stop.
2.) Your heat is not working. The heat going away can be a sign that you antifreeze is low and that you are about to overheat.

Boxlight CD-725C TEMP light comes on and unit shuts down afer 10 minutes. Unit has about 1200 hours on the bulb. Seconds before the unit stops, at least one of the fans slows down.


The reason why the temp comes on because the fan is start slow down, so the bulb produce a lot of heat. Once the maximum temp reach, the temperature sensor will become inactive. So boxlight shutdown. First you need to replace the fan, or check the supply dc voltage going to fan if it is stable.
