I have a Canon Powershot

I have a Canon Powershot S3 IS and I was looking at picture I had taken and the lens was retracted. I switched to the camera mode and the lens started to come out and hit my leg and stopped half way. The lens went dark. I turned it off to retract the lens and then turned it back on. The lens came all the way out but the screen is still black and I could feel the camera and just barely hear it making the noise it makes when the lens is coming out but it was already all the way out. I switched it to the pictures and it comes on normally and I can see them. I was able to download the pictures but whenever I turn it to camera now to take pictures it automatically turns itself off and I cannot do anything. What should I do, can it be fixed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
