Question about Heating & Cooling

I have a Danby DPAC10071 and am trying to install the vertical window installation kit. I don't understand how I'm supposed to put in the sliders without covering the holes that allow the air to come in and out of the window.

I have the danby DPAC120058 and I'm having the same problem as johnstilla. If I secure the slider kit in the window, then the air exhaust is 80% cover and I can't install the air exhaust adapter. I didn't think it would be this complicated to set up an air conditioner.

We were thinking the same thing when we first set it up. What we did was use the patio extension to **** up against the one with the openings so that the smaller piece joined the two larger pieces. Seems to work this way. Hope this helps!!

I eventually just gave up and cut off a piece of one of my extensions. Not sure if there's a better method, but that worked just fine for me. Plus, I still have the other, full sized one for when I want to move the AC to the patio door.

The model number you listed didn't come up for Kenmore. However, the similar Danby model's Owner's Manual may help you. You can download and print it for future reference.

At one time, Haier had an optional window kit for taller or wider windows. Contact their Product Support 1-877-337-363, to see if it's still available.

I want to use my danby 7599 as a heater, do I need to have the exhaust tube vented to the outside on the back?

As per instructions on page 4 of the manual I printed out from the internet (which I cannot find again) :
The exhaust/window kit must be installed AT ALL TIMES WHEN THE UNIT IS OPERATING UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONING MODE.
There should be at least 11.8" clearance between the unit and any other objects or building structure. The unit should be installed on a level surface. The window kit does not have to be installed during operation of the remaining three modes. (Heating (DPAC 7599) /Dehumidifying/Fan)

Exhaust tube not staying in collar/not sealing correctly

Screw it back in place and put a sheet metal screw in it into the adapter.

Danby PORTABLE Air Conditioner model DPAC10071 is leaking water from bottom base. The unit is 2 weeks old.

The base needs to be dumped regularly. The air conditioner sweats water during operation and the pan collects it. Your manual should give you the procedure on how this is done. In some cases there is a hose attached to the drain pan so that you can direct the drainage to a more conventional drain location.

I'm confused by the window kit - help

You will have to cut the slider to fit. It comes extra long in case you want to install it length-wise (up and down) in a sliding door.
