Hi, you can try checking the charger, might be defective. or check the charger port on the mp4 player, it might be damaged.
Cheers.!!!

Charging my mp4 player

If it's an iPod, Apple makes an AC power adapter. It's a little expensive at $40, but it's very small and portable. If it's not an iPod, one of those universal chargers should work.

My mp4 will not turn on and there is no reset button on it

Is this an Apple iPod or another media player? Can you please give us a model / version number?
If it's an Apple iPod, you'll need to hold in the play and menu buttons at the same time for several seconds to reset it. Also, if it's still not turning on, try hooking it up to your computer via a USB cable (or whatever cable was included for PC hook-up) and let it charge through USB power. Try resetting it via iTunes too, if need-be.
Hope all that helps. But if it's not an Apple iPod, you'll need to bring forth more details on your media player.

8gb mp3/mp4 player

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, your iPod may be paused or on "hold." Slide the Hold switch and check the screen.

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, connect your iPod to your computer, then press and hold the "Menu" and "Select" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to reset the iPod. Resetting an iPod will not affect your files or preferences.

If your iPod fails to hold a charge and it's more than a year old, you may need a new battery.

If all else fails, file a complaint with ebay stating you were sold something that was not properly described - unless the seller made it clear there were issues with the unit.

Hope this helps some!
