IN order for you to check the IP address and default gateway of your computers it will be better if you check it under command prompt. To do that click Start > RUN then type CMD and hit enter then the command prompt will open type there IPCONFIG and hit enter and there you will see the information that you need.

I have problem setting up my wireless network and redirecting my wireless client to my local webpages before they can access to internet.   see this diagram below :...

you need to replace your modem with a router that is capable of running Network Address Translation. You are trying to route private IP's (192,168.x.x) over the public IP (internet) network.

I cant connect internet through hardwire(ethernet) but i can connect to internet by wireless... and it keeps on telling me Unidentified network.

Not really ...

1 thing that should not be in common between your wireless and modem is GATEWAY...

Your default modem gateway will be 192.168.1.1

change your router gateway to 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.3.1

to do this ...
1. click on start menu , type cmd , enter
2. COMMAND PROMPT dialogue box opens .
3. type . IPCONFIG
3. note your Default gateway.
4. open internet explorer
5. type your default gateway in browser address
6. it will prompt you to give user ID and password .
7 Your USER ID and password is ADMIN .
8. your router setup page opens .
9 change your local IP address to 192.168.3.1 .
10. Check mark on BRIDGING MODE .
11. Disable and enable your ethernet .
12 . now try connecting to INTERNET .

It should work . .

How do I secure my DLink-524 wireless

In securint your wireless security try accessing the configuration page of the router. go the the window where you created your wireless netowrk connection.

On that Wireless window choose WEP for security.
By defaut WEP Encryption is 64bit.
Under Key1 erase what's on the box and type in the password for your wirelss network. It should be exactly 10 characters, You could use 0 to 9 or A to F then click on Apply >next.
Try Accessing your wireless networ.

7. Open up Internet Explorer
8. In the address bar at the top type in the gateway ip address in this format (EXAMPLE) http://192.168.1.1 then hit enter

12. If the routers admin pw has been set already and you don't know it, you can set the router back to factory default settings by grabbing a paper clip and pressing and holding the little tiny hole button on the back of the router.

Please rate this accurately and my instructions may not be EXACT, but use common sense.

I can't access my router through the URL.

Open your router, in the IP settings make sure your IP range is set from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.10 this will give you 10 different IP address so that all computers will be able to connect with their own individual IP's. provided you have less than 10 machines
This is unusual to have this IP, most have 192.168.100 Do this to confirm your IP, on the computer that you have the wireless router connected to hit start-run-type in CMD when the command prompt box opens type in "IPCONFIG" this will tell you what the computer has for all you settings if they do not match the router make the necessary changes in the router.

Internet access problem with a Linksys 54g router

Try setting the default gateway on the laptop to the ip address of your ICS gateway machine. Some routers separate the wireless and LAN connections on different subnets.

Try comparing your laptops ip information with that of one of the working wired computers. You can do this by going to Start up to run and type cmd then click "ok"

At the black prompt screen type "ipconfig" without the "".

You want to compare the IP Address, Submet Mask, and Default Gateway.

If one has an ip of 192.168.1.* and the other has 192.168.0.* then the wireless and wired are on seperate networks.

If the subnet masks are something like 255.255.255.0 and 255.255.255.1 they are on seperate subnets. Both should be fixable by putting in the same default gateway.

For example if your ICS gateway is 192.168.1.1 then set that as the default gatway on the wireless laptop. This can be done by going to start >> Control Panel >> Network Connections then right click your wireless connection and goto properties then double click on the "Internet Protocol (tcp/ip)" option. This will list all of your ip information (if its static) if its dynamic (ip gotten from router) you can still click "Use the following DNS server address" and set preffered dns to the gateway ICS ip. Or click "Advanced" and click Add under Default Gateways and add the gateway ICS ip there.
