Hello, welcome to FixYa.

As with most things they vary from one model to the next.

Generally you'll need to remove the back panel and rap the belt first around the motor pulley and then turn it like a bike chain around the larger drum drive pulley ( watch your fingers for pinching...oouch ! )

It should resemble this, though it is only one model...WFK2401, but essentially the same.

We had found the belt already off. Thanks, it was like replacing an old fan belt on an older car, but it keeps sliding off the big pulley towards the drum. Is it stretched and we need to replace?

Front loader hums instead of starting

Try to get ahold of a qualified service technician that specializes in washing machines and dryers.
My guess is it could either be if its belt driven the belt has broke and the drive motor is turning freely or the drive motor is possibly burnt out or in need of replacement.
Its not much but I hope it helps

I need to know how to replace the belt

hello,

intruction

Front load washers are convenient and easy to use. They offer the convenience of extra capacity and tend to wash clothes a little better than their top loading counterparts. Sometimes, however, the belt that drives the drum will break and need to be replaced. Replacing a drive belt on front load washers is not that difficult and can be performed by many home mechanics.

  • Use the screwdrivers to remove the screws in the rear access panel of the washer and then pull off the panel.

Locate the pump coupling, which is the rubber part that connects the motor to the water pump, and unscrew the clamps securing it to the motor. Once the coupling is removed, tension is removed from the belt.

  • 3

Slide the belt off of the pulley assemblies and slide the new belt in its stead. Reattach the coupling with the mounting clamps and check the tension on the belt. You should be able to wiggle the belt a bit, but not more than an inch or so.

  • 4 Close the access panel and turn on the machine. Run it through a cycle while observing it to see how it handles the belt change.

  • TIPS

Be sure to unplug the washing machine before beginning to work on it. thnak and thanks for using fixya.

Pull the back panel off and look at he drive belt. My pully nut loosened up and caused extreme vibration (more than usual). The pulley is aluminum and it rounded out the center hole of the pulley. The belt finally came off. I replaced the pulley and belt.
