Question about Panasonic DVD-RV32 DVD Player
Hi, this is a very common problem, what happens is, the runners and the plastic cogs the draw runs on wear and then this causes it to lock in closed position.
now the only way you can get it open is buy using a strong knife or flat bladed screwdriver then when you press the open button try prying the tray open from either side, it may be quite stiff but once you get it open it shoud start working for a while until it locks up again, usually it will work ok for few weeks before it locks again.
their isnt anything you can do about it as the price of a new dvd player would cost as much as getting the parts replaced so its not financially worth getting it fixed.
so for now the best thing to do is try prying the tray open whilst pressing the open button after a couple of goes you should have it open, then it should work for a while, you may find it will never get stuck again but in most cases it will get stuck after a month or so and prying it open is the only option you have due to the costs involved in geting it repaired.
im sorry their is no long term fix but due to the cost its just not worth paying to have it repaired.
you may be lucky and it may not ever get stuck again so give it a try pry it open it may be a bit hard but after a couple of goes you should have it open.
use strong knife or flat bladed screwdriver and put the screwdriver in the side of the tray and then press open button or get someone else to press it whilst you pry the tray open from one of the sides of the tray.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Thank God your set is working alright and the optical headd is in good shape.
1. Open the side screws and take the lid off after switching off and removing the plug.
2. Now you can see the disc mechanism with the CD inside. There is a cross bar across the DISC which is mounted by two crews on either side.
3. remove the two screws and the top clamp on the DISC wil come out. Now remove the CD.Sometimes you will need to remove the front panel .
4. replace lid back and test.
5. If the door wont eject then it is possible that the motor has jammed, the mechanism is jammed or the motor drive IC is faulty. Tighten the cords to the mechanism motor, solder the loading IC .If not you will need to replace this loading IC.
If the motor is turned a bit and if this works then the motor brushes are faulty . You might have to change to prevent futher repeat of fault.
I hope you will be able to get this sorted with the above tips & advice.
