Brother MFC 820CW

These sort of parts are very hard to source as generally the repair cost is more than the cost of a new printer. I have had success doing these type of repairs by buying a length of ribbon cable from an electronic parts supplier and carefully soldering the wires onto the circuit boards. It is delicate work and you need to be careful, but it can be done if you take your time.

Lemark x5650

You will need a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer. The USB has Type A on one end and Type B on the other. You can purchase this from any electronic shops around your area or you can also call Lexmark Technical Support to request for one. Lexmark printers that are capable of wireless connection have a Wifi light (usually found on the upper right corner on its front face). But before you're able to connect wireless successfully, you will still need to connect the printer to your computer temporarily with the usb cable for configuration. Hope this helps.

Power cable missing

Most printers require that you purchase a printer cable. It has a USB on one end and the other end looks square. If you want one that plugs into your USB port it is called a USB 2.0 A - B Scanner Printer Cable. They come in different length. The longer they are the more they will cost. You can get them off of Ebay by searching Printer cable. If you will be plugging the printer into a parallel port make sure you get a printer for that kind of port. You can usually purchase printer cables at any store that sells printers or computer parts. They are a pretty common item. Hope this helps.moz-screenshot.jpg

Don't know how to setup printer or hook to computer

Hello calbj5, Since you didn't provide a make /model computer or printer..all I can provide is general guidelines for you.. Your printer will have a few features in that you will need to determine what fits your system best.. Many newer printers use a USB port to communicate with the computer.. This is a modular type plug ( one end will match the plug on your printer ) and the other end will be plugge dinto any available USB port on the back of your computer, ( older systems used what they call a D-Type cable assembly ) and if tha is what you require, you willl need to get that cable. Like I said.. most newer style printers come with the USB type cable as standard. You will also find the power cord provided with your printer..One ened plugs into the back or side mating plug of the printer and the other to your power receptacle ( hopefully you are using a surge protector set up)
Once you have both cables hooked up and plugged in.. you've probably been provided with a CD that came with your computer as well as instructions for loading the drivers on that CD ( most of the time) you just insert the CD into your CD player and it wil ask a few questions and self load.. Please let me know if this gets you going or youneed clarification.. It's always a good idea to provide brand and model numbers in your questions.. That helps us in helping you.. Good Luck !

RCA Entertainment Series PiP CRT, black screen, static/squeel sound

Hello krysis2000,

Sounds that this might be the proverbial problem some brands have, specially RCA (funny this problem still exists. It was around even when I was a resident engineer for RCA Corp. 20 years ago and hasn't been modified). This problem relates to the tuner assembly. It is a relatively easy fix for a skilled technical person. The cost of repairing it shouldn't even be close to its replacement value, so, in my opinion, worth fixing. Since I do not know the model or age of your TV set (or the inclination you might have to take this as an excuse to get a new HDTV set - LOL), it is entirely your call!!
Hope this helps. Let me know.
