Question about PC Desktops

I purchased 926 photo ink cartridge dell order no 5722324968 and have installed it. I have checked that the protective tape has been removed and have installed it into left hand holder with another colour cartridge in right hand holder but the quality of printing is very bad. A problem indicator is showing telling me to remove protective strip from cartridge. Please can you advise. Thanks

Either a fragment of strip is still stuck on cartridge, or cartridge is faulty

    Try first unplugging printer from power for a couple of minutes, so to reset it. Try also removing cartridge and putting it back. If the error persists, then there may be a fragment of cello strip still on the cartridge , check it and eventually remove it.
    If there is none then the cartridge is faulty (they have a sensor), in this case take it back to retailer and ask a replacement.

Hello Michelle,

You are using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges, correct?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 9 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 9 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)
photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

It's possible to get a Dell Series 9 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. I would take these back to the place of purchase for a replacement.

Select the ink cartridge specific to your printer. Canon inks are versatile, so your selection may be as simple as choosing between black, color or a multi-pack with black and color cartridges.

Turn on your Canon printer. The switch is generally located on the top right hand side of the printer. Open the printer's lid.

Wait a moment. The cartridge carrier will automatically disengage.

Put your hand behind the existing ink cartridge and pull the cartridge towards you until it pops out. Dispose of or recycle the used cartridge.

Carefully pull the tape off the new cartridge.

Position the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure it is facing the correct position.

Press the cartridge carrier gently until it clicks into place. Some cartridges have indicators to demonstrate that they are properly positioned.

Close the printer's lid. Print a test page to ensure everything is working properly.

I just loaded new HP 94 and HP 97 ink cartridges in my HP 6210 Officejet. I went through the alignment process and received a sheet that had colors, but no black ink. The printout indicated the alignment...

Make sure all the protective tape on the Black cartridge has been removed. Also are the inks re-filled? I have seen many re-filled cartridges fail in a similar maner.

How I can refill my HP 27 Cartridge at home...


please follow the instructions........

    Purchase an ink refill kit that is specific for the HP 27 color ink cartridge. Look over the packaging to insure that it states that the kit is for the particular make and model. Using other types of cartridges may not work properly.

    Place several paper towels down to prevent any ink residue from damaging other objects. Place the ink cartridge onto the paper towels. Put on a pair of rubber gloves to prevent ink from staining hands.

    Peel off the top label gently from the cartridge.

    Observe the three holes that are located on top of the cartridge. There is a solo hole located near a rectangular tab that protrudes and two other holes located next two rectangular indentations into the plastic on the top of the cartridge.

    Take a toothpick and gently stick it down inside each hole to verify the color. Take a sharpie marker and mark next to each hole with the correct coloring for ease. Use "M" for the magenta color, "Y" for yellow and "B" for blue.

    Take a piece of masking tape and place over two of the holes to prevent ink spillage from mixing into other color positions.

  • 7

    Read over the ink cartridge refill kit for the appropriate amount of ink needed to fill the syringe with the correct color for the uncovered hole.

    Expel any excessive ink from the syringe. Insure that you have the correct amount of ink by following the markers on the side of the syringe.

    Place a paper towel over the end of the syringe and while holding the tip upwards, gently press or tap the syringe plunger to expel any air.

    Insert the syringe needle into the appropriate color hole until the tip hits the bottom of the cartridge. Pull the syringe up a little from the bottom of the cartridge to prevent blockage when expelling ink.

    Expel the ink into the color hole slowly. Stop if ink begins to protrude out of the color hole. Take a cotton swab and gently wipe the outside of the color hole and then cover with tape.

    Take the syringe apart and rinse thoroughly to prevent ink colors from blending. Take a cotton swab and dry out the inside of the syringe.

    Repeat above steps for the remaining two color positions that are left.

    Gently take a needle and put a hole in each tape that covers the color holes for ventilation. Allow the cartridge to sit for at least one hour after completing refill instructions.

    Reattach the original top label.

    My computer will not reconize the ink cartriges in my printer

    Read on and see if any applies to you.
    Check that you removed the protective tape. some cartridges have two of these pieces of tape one over the head and possibly on on the contacts to the printer.

    If you recently re-filled or had the cartridge refilled or even bought one of the many cheaper replacement cartridges you should read on

    Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
    Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.

    Re-filling them will have no effect

    If you are lucky you should be able to find either a
    chip resetter around on the INTERNET or maybe even local


    Even better empty cartridges that
    never need to be reset.
    The second option is my preference

    I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.

    cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
    If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth.
    Also be very gentle.

    I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning.
    Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.

    I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
    I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.

    I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.

    No matter if I paid $1 or $100 for a cartrdige I would still expect it to work

    New ink cartrage and the computer wont print a thing

    Did you make sure to remove the cello tape from top, bottom or both to allow 1) air to enter from the top, or 2) ink to exit from the bottom?
    If its a laser cartridge you have to pull out the protective strip.

    Epson Stylus DX4400 purchased today scans but won't print. It seems to think it has no ink but the cartridged were put in today and nothing has been printed yet.

    Have you fitted cartridges correctly ? removed any sealing tape?
    Use buttons on printer to make it do a self-clean (see manual).

    Change ink cartridge

    go to start>control panel> printers and faxes>preferences>services> ( This is how I bet to services on my own HP.) There may be another route for you. At any rate you need to get to the services tab to figure out wihich cartridge is low, if you don't know. When you do know, just open the lid of your printer while it has power and the cartridges will move to the position where you can remove them. Just gently lift out the old cartridge, peel off the protect tape on the new one, being careful not to touch the copper contact area, and insert it in the slot.DO not leave the new cartridge standing out of the pacage more than thirty minutes. It should slip right in and you will know that it is snug and in place.. If your printer does not then automatically print an calibration page within a few minutes, you should do so, from the same area where you checked your cartridges above. Good luck. This aligns the new cartridges and guarantees a good color print.
