The dishes on the top rack come out with a sandy residue on them....we have tried running it with the jet dry dishwasher cleaner, the vinigar and baking soda...have taken apart and checked all filters and water supply...no help with any of that. I also wonder how much water should be in there when it is running...shouldn't it cover the heating coil in the bottom? My water level is just below the coil.

Are you making sure your heater is ok??Water temp should be taken and be 120 or hotter. If its not turn up water heater temperature. If heating coil is not working replace it.It provides the heat to the D/W and aids in the heated Dry cycle. The solution for spotted/foggy glass problems all start with making sure your water is Hot enough.Rinse aid is the second.
