There are known issues if you are not using geniue hp cartridges.
Can you try the printer in another computer to see if its a issue with your computer or a internal printer issue?

go into the menu and look for copy/print settings. you should see an option to lighten or darken the copy. It should look like a ascending /descending slider. tap to the left for lighter or to the right for darker

Copies have black streaks and "double printing" meaning that the image is repeated much lighter a few inches over

The two possible solution is that you need a new drum cleaning blade and maybe a new OPC drum with it or it maybe that the upper fuser unit is worn out or dammaged. Look in thos two spots. Good Luck

Double images, error 5100 when printing, copying

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.

Copy prints with image from previous page (lighter) as well. This is an older copier (Gestetner 2302Z)--is the fuser roller the issue/ Can I repair/replace myself?

To check if it is the fuser rollers turn off the copier before the paper reaches the fuser.Remove the 'jammed paper' carefully as the image will rub off and see if the double image is present. If it not then it sounds like the fuser. If it is there then will more than likely be the drum that is not cleaning.I do not suggest that you change this yourself.

A copy with a lighter image of the copy on the page

Do printed pages come out better than copies?
If they are the same, you may try another toner cartridge (especially if it is a remanufactured or compatible toner), otherwise, you need your optics cleaned (mirrors and lens under the contact glass)

Want to print pictures from camera card.

I received my Brother printer today (11/5). I also go mine mainly for the scanner because my Visioneer 9320 doesn't have any drivers for VISTA, and Visioneer isn't making any updates.

My camra uses a SD card. This is how I got mine to print pictures.

I place my SD card into the printer
I then press the PHOTO CAPTURE button The display on the printer reads CONNECTING TO PC

Then the display reads PRESS (up arrow or down arrow) & OK
When you press the up or down arrow, the display will read PRINT IMAGES or PRINT INDEX

I selected PRINT INDEX and then you have to press the OK BUTTON
The printer display then will ask 6 images per line or 5 images per line.
You pick what you want then you hit the OK button.

Don't forget to put the photo paper in the tray, upside down.

Hopes this helps

Double vision text

Hi. Try this. Pull the print cartridges and wipe them with an alcohol pad. Put them back and run cleaning on the printer. It may take almost 10 times. If you see improvement, you're going in the right direction. If not, I'd try cleaning everything the paper makes contact with around the cartridges. Just a guess, but I have over 80 printers I'm responsible for at work, and a good cleaning usually improves things unless the printer or the print cartridges are going bad.
