-Sounds like the temperature sensor is effect. Check if it's not within specification then replace it.

Faulty thermostat it's the thin copper shaft in the oven that has a skinny tube running from it if you remove the oven knob you will find it goes back to the switch. Needs replacing.

Thermador Built in oven scd302 not heating upper oven, lower oven fine. Heating element not glowing red as the oven below it does.

Hi.

Problem is usually either temperature probe or heating element.

Grab a multimeter and set it on impedance (Ohms).
Remove first temperature probe and then heating element.
If either probe or element is reading open (ohms infinity), then replace the part.

If both probe and elements are not open, then the problem is either wiring or oven electronic control. The most common fault resulting in no heat is the temperature sensor located inside the oven cavity.

Regards.

I have a theramador warming draw that has a thermastat, listed in the part discription, but there is no sensor device to regulate the temperature. Is it possible that the thermastat is actually a...

Not exactly a rheostat, but a thermostat controlled switch similar to what you would find in an electric oven. It monitors temperature, and turns the heating element on and off to maintain.

The parts list at thermador-eshop.com show the heating element as p/n 101, and the sensor as p/n 102.

Your unit, with the rotary assembly, is the version before the electronic touch panel controls came out.

Teperature i snot rising above 100, why?

Assuming your Thermador is electric, and it is only warming up a little, this is usually one of three things:

1. Heating element - with oven power disconnected, check that the elements resistance is in spec. Usually around 20 ohms.

2. Thermistor - this senses the temperature of the oven. Again, check the resistance. Depending on your model, it should be around 1050ohms at room temperature.

3. Electronic Control Board. These can be rebuilt quickly and reliably at www.fixyourboard.com. Some are still available to buy online.

Hope that helps
