Question about GPS
Most likely this is an intermittant voice coil. I've seen this happen before. The only way to resolve this is to replace the speaker. First thing, when the speaker isn't working, does it sound OK on headphones?
The fact that you lost all audio..... beeps, voice, music... indicates a speaker problem. If the audio is OK on headphones, then you know the speaker is bad. This is a common problem with BT 3xx & 6xx units, although the 7xx series uses an oval speaker rather then a round antenna like the 3xx, 6xx & StreetPilot 3xx & 5xx series.
Also, I suggest check the next link: gps_audio_repair.htm
Hope helps to solve it.
