IT WORKS OK BUT THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT IT OFF IS BY THROWING THE MAIN BREAKER IN THE HOUSE .... WILL NOT SHUTT OFF AUTO EVEN WITH THEROSTAT SET REPLACE THERMOSTAT NOT THE PROBLEM... ANY ADVICE WILL HELP

Sounds like the control board or the wiring running to the unit from the main system has been damaged some how. Inspect the therostat wires running out of the system to the condenser (Outside Unit) to make sure that there is no damage to the wiring. Could also be that you have a bad relay that needs to be replaced, check to see if anything in the condenser outside looks to be burnt or enlarged. You will be able to tell the signs from the look of it.

Therostat in rv doesnt work right

Suggest you replace it.  If the unit runs on 12volts, a battery powered unit is fine.  Just connect the wiring to the appropriate terminals.

Emmersion heater in airing cupboard tripped, so i replaced old for new rdt 18inch vertical ressetable therostat but it still tripped, could the problem be the element? if so how easy is it to replace?

Easy! Breaker trips means electrically touching ground. Disconnect parts till unit stays running then "that eas the grounded part. Thank you very much!
