I want manual for SONY DCR TRV355E - Cameras

Hi-8 camcorders might be backward-compatible for playing tapes. I bought a model which could be switched between the two modes - Sony DCR-TRV355E.

There are no drivers for the Sony Handycam DCR-TRV355E for Windows 7, although it is tested and works in Windows 7 using Windows Movie Maker, and others. Click here for compatibility information.

1. Download Video Download Studio, install it.

Maybe you should take the hint and not purchase further equipment from a company with which you are clearly not happy? I have always found the best action with any malfunctioning items is to take them to the nearest qualified trustworthy repair centre, not get all worked up about things

If you are using the USB cable to connect the Camcorder to the Computer to transfer the videos to the Computer then:

This Camcorder does not support USB streaming with the VISTA Operating System. Use an i.LINK cable to transfer the video to the Computer.

The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. (An i.LINK is a black D shaped connector with 4 or 6 pins. The type of cable to be used will depend on the i.LINK port of your Computer. The Sony Camcorder will have the 4 pin i.LINK cable and if the computer has the 6 pin i.LINK port, then you may have to use the 4 pin to 6 pin i.LINK Cable).

You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video to the Computer.

Its a possibility that the sensor could be bad but I'll bet that its a small surface mounted capacitor thats bad. These are common for the caps to go bad, and when they do start to leak, the camcorder should be taken into the shop asap, AS THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE MORE DAMAGE the Capacitors will cause, as they eat up the tiny traces on the board and then the board has to be replaced.
