Most people will say update your firmware at Samsung support. I'm guessing you've tried that. Also try to reset system also at Samsung support. To do this you just take disc out, hold the FF button down on unit until you see "reset" then select language. Turn system off then hold power button for 15 sec. Then restart system. As far as Netflix you got to got to system, determine if you are using wireless or cable. You have to set this yourself. scroll to test to make sure you have connection.
I think the problem is for this the disc may be damaged. Or dont use copies this freezez and ruines the system, there may be a microchip problem i sugest return it and ask for compesasatin
chk and see if the the ribbon cable to the optical lens is broken. CHK also to c if the path the lens travel is clear from debree. CHK to c if the loading gear for the lens is moving smooth. CHK to c if the disc motor turning freely and not stopping suddenly. If all of the above is ok then the board could be defective..
Burn your DVDs at tow positions slower than what the system and discs say. It sounds as if there is a huge amount of error being introduced during the write process. Unfortunately, the old discs can only be recovered with an external program like Zero Assumption Recovery or the like....accordianman
