Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

I have the double drawer dishwasher. It is 3 years old. For about 1 year now one of the programmes - the second one along which is for quite dirty crockery and cutlery (programme is about 99 minutes) - STOPS after about 60 minutes. It bleeps and flashes and the pot wash programme and eco button are on when I open the drawer. Sometimes the programme works right through. No pattern or consistency. Also the dishwasher isn't cleaning terribly well. I've checked the filters as much as I can and the salt and rinsing fluid are full. Can you help. I think the dishwasher needs a good service, but the programme problem sounds a bit more complicated. Thank you. Anne MacLehose, Perth, Scotland

A few things you could do.

Is this happening with both drawers.

Take a clean damp cloth and wipe the switches and the inside panel.

Get a couple of Finish dishwasher cleaner kits from the local woolworths/ safeway and run each drawer separately with one kit in each. You will have to select at least the 99 minute cycle.
This should help with having cleaner dishes.

Hope this helps. Please rate the solution if you find it helpful.

Our two drawer dishwasher model 603dd was working - it showed the "flood button" and then the power cut out and now there is no power to it. Its two years old. Id it worth fixing?? id there anything we can...

I am assuming one of the drawers has caused water to leak into the base of the dishwasher cabinet

Disconnect the mains power connection.

Extend the bottom drawer out as much as possible. Use towels and hair dryer to dry out the base - especially the flood switch that is located towards the back middle of the base.

Leave it open until the moisture disappears. Reconnect mains power and try to start one of the drawers.

The water can leak due to kink or crack in hoses or simply too much foam from detergent.

Hope this fixes the problem - hopefully nothing to replace.

I HAVE A TWIN DRAWER MACHINE ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD THE TOP DRAWER IS WASHING DISHES BUT LEAVING WATER IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRAWER WHICH I AM NOW HAVING TO EMPTY MANUALLY HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM

Have you tried running the rinse cycle to check if the water drains out?

If you are not getting any fault codes, then it might be simply a matter of cleaning the base filter plate and the sump. The user manual will tell you how to do this.

If that does not help then post a comment along with the model number of your fisher and paykel double drawer unit and I will suggest further diagnostics.

When the wash cycle takes longer than the time stated on the display, and when the dishes are done, there is about three inches of dirty water in the bottom of the drawer . The repair technician replaced...

A couple of things to confirm first
1. is the second drawer working oK - i am assuming you have a double drawer model?

2. Are you not seeing the wash cycle time on the display? why does the technician want to replace the display (LCD)?

3. Apart from replacing the rotor did the technician try to clean the dishwasher base and pump filter sump?

Please post your comments to help diagnose the cause of dirty water remaining in the dishwasher.

Dishwasher stopped working. Suspect electronics issue.

An expert from another site says it's a faulty control panel and may need new actuators.

NAD C521i four year old. Usually fails to find cd's When it does tracking and sound is bad.

I've dealt with this type issue quite a bit.
Believe it or not the drawer belt needs to be changed.
If the drawer isnt drawn all the way into the unit...the disc motor wont spin and ....you get rejected
Also the lens on the laser could be dirty.

Take it to a tech . Try a local stereo store . They should know who's best.

Happy new Years,
