Connect the laptop to an external monitor to confirm that the system is worrking in perfect condition. If so then there is a possiblity that the LCD display is at fault.
1. Check using the external monitor for any errrors in the display drive. if so reinstall.
2. If not, there could be a possible break in the lines that go through the hinges. check the continuity of the connection from the mother board.
3. possible failure of the mother board/display drive. This might be expensive and so take help.
