Can't transfer video from Camera to the laptop

Hi..I'm unable to transfer one of the movies i shot from the Camera onto my laptop. The size of the movie is 1 GB. Can you help me find a solution? I'm able to play that movie on the camera itself but am unable to transfer it to my PC.

I've the exact same problem. Plays on the camera, but when I transfer it to my computer, I receive a file with zero size. It's a five minute video. Other, much shorter videos had no problem transferring to my computer.

I phoned canon with a similar problem.
Poss reasons: 1 A clash between codecs - try removing as many codecs as poss then installing something like Ace mega codecs (this did not work for me). 2. Has the card been formatted on the computer ? I have since reformatted my card using low level format option on the camera. It has worked fine with 2 video clips I tried today - but I still cannot play my earlier problem files.

Editing

Unfortunately your camera does not have this kind of capability. you have to download the video onto your computer and use some kind of video editor to do this.

You can use the Windows Movie Maker for this task, program that is bundled for free with your Windows environment.

How to get pictures off sony cyber shot onto computer using usb

When using Windows Operating System on the Computer, follow the steps given below:

Connect the Camera to the Computer using the supplied USB cable. The Computer will recognize the Camera as a removable drive and list in the Windows Explorer. Press the Windows logo on the keyboard along with the "E" key to open the windows explorer. If the Sony Camera is listed in the explorer as a removable drive then double click on it to open and navigate through the files and folders. Open the "DCIM" for images and "MP_Root" for videos. Once the images and videos are visible, right click on the desired file then select copy. Next, paste the selected file on the hard drive of the Computer.

If you want to select all the files at once then press "CTRL+A", to copy, "CTRL+C" and to paste, "CRTL+V".

Sony cyber-shot DSC-N2 how to upload vidoe to pc?

I changed the resolution size under options before filming and uploaded the video onto my provided picture motion program given with purchase of camera. I then switched the file to my videos under my computer so I was able to upload them onto email, and internet.

Videos Don't Download Completely

I've had this problem before. I don't know what format Sony records their movies in but it's probably MPEG4 or Divx.

Goto to Divx.com and download the Dvix Codec and player. See it that solves that problem.

Just a video of 8.03 minutes captured in my Power Shot A550 Digital Camera shows 867 MB size

A 1.3 hour movie is recorded on a DVD, not a CD. DVDs can hold a minimum of 4.7 GB, or nearly seven times the capacity of CDs. Your 867 MB file of 8.03 minutes indicates that you were recording at about 1,800 KB/sec, or the highest quality recording level. (See specifications here.) If you're willing to record your video in a smaller size, you can get much more recording on a CD.

Movie Won't Transfer Over to My Computer

Well it took me over an hour to figure this one out. Loathingly I loaded the Canon software onto my computer. Then instead of using the card reader in my hard drive I used the USB cable that came with the camera. I downloaded the movie onto my hard drive through the USB cable and PRESTO, it played perfectly on my computer with no problem. Hope that helps.
