Question about Belling 644 Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Belling 644. Orange light staus on when oven switched off.

The oven is about 2 and half years old. The problem started last week. After cooking I turned the dial off and the orange light that usually comes on when the oven is heating up stayed on. I have to switch it off at the mains and let it cool before switching back on, this usually stops the problem but the next time I use it, it happens again. The oven is also burning food quite quickly and when you open the door it is very smoky. Can anyone suggest what it wrong and how to fix it.

I have just baught a second hand belling double oven cooker, we have switched it on and the timer is constantly buzzing! And the top oven and grill don't work! Any ideas on wot could b wrong?

The timer has been set and the cooking time is finished. That is why it is buzzing and the oven is in a turned off state. You need to acknowledge the cooking time finished, and set the oven back to Manual operation from Automatic. In the old days you pressed one of the buttons by the clock that was used to set. I used to have a Belling Double Oven in the UK, but I can't remember about the timer.

On my Belling it was the oven multi function switch that was faulty. I replaced it - carefully (lots of coloured wires) and it works fine now. Hope this helps

Oven won't work!

timer must be set to any time of day for ovens to work, niormally you need to press either 2 or 3 buttons together to set time, if this fails you need to bypass the timer ele ctrically

Belling synergie. oven does not heat up. grill ok. think i need to set to manual but how???

if its flashing auto.
Press and hold the 2 buttons on the left hand - clock and cook time and then press the + button.
This then sets the time to allow manual and takes the auto off.

Oven door opens by itself during cooking

could be the peg that engages into a double roller set inside the door. this peg is usually adjustable. try screwing it out a bit. also check that the spring tensioned roller is ok - these commonly fail
