It says there is a Jam at Exit Open Door A. The printer was taken apart but we still don't see the paper. I had a glossy piece of paper in there and it's no longer in the tray but it's no where to be seen.

I had the same problem kept getting an error something like Jam at Exit Door Open Door A. When I looked at the top of the where paper normally comes from and flipped it open I found a super crinkled piece of paper, which once removed cleared the jam.

My Xerox phaser 6180 keeps saying there is a jam at exit. Open door A. I have taken it apart & cleaned/cleared everything I can. Any suggestions?

This could be some paper still stuck in the fuser, so check that.

The usual cause of this, is the 'paper out' sensor arm (in the fuser) being broken.

I'm fairly sure that this is NOT available from Xerox as a spare part, so the quickest, easiest solution is to replace the fuser.

Clean printheads on Xerox phaser 6180

This type of print quality defect shows up if you have loaded the wrong type of paper in your machine and didn't remember to change the paper type (plain paper, card stock, labels, etc.).
This can also happen if the paper has a high moisture content, or if the humidity in the room is too much. Also make sure the room temperature is within its normal operating range (not too hot, not too cold).

The problem you describe could also be caused by using non-Xerox toner/drum units. Compatible toners don't work very well in Xerox printers.

Aside from those problems, the only other thing would be if the Fuser Assembly is near the end of its life...it will also cause some print quality problems like you are describing.

Remove the paper tray and check the guides. Make sure they are lined up on the 8.5 X 11 marks. If it is lined up, try going into the menu of the printer and reset back to defaults.

I'm getting Jam at Reg Roll on my Phaser 6180, and I think there may be a bit of paper in the paper path, but i can't see it. The machine says Open Door A, which I've done a few times, but it isn't...

Had exactly the same problem... today actually.

Found the solution with another model's manual - I removed the paper from the top, but hadn't realised there was a jam in the paper tray. It was only when pulling it out completely that I found it as below...

Jam at Registration Roller

1. Remove Tray 2 completely.

2. Clear the jammed paper from the printer's

intake slot.

3. Re-insert Tray 2.

4. Open front door A.

5. Remove jammed paper if present.
6. Close front door A

I have a Xerox Phaser 6180 MFP, and it keeps saying paper jam and there is no jam, what can I do?

Check the fuser for paper stuck in it.

Check that the 'paper out' sensor arm (in the fuser) is not broken. If it IS broken, you'll need a new fuser.

We have a paper jam on our Xerox 6180. It jams on every page. When I pull the paper out there doesn't seem to be a jam, probably a bum sensor. Strangely it happened when we replaced a cartridge.
