Hi, you haven't said what operating system you are using, so you will need to insert your CD that came with the laptop containing the operating system and perform a system restore. You will not loose any saved data by performing this. To help you further I will need to know your operating system.
Hope this helps

How do I disable the touchpad on my Dell Ispiron 1300

Hi jweav66,

The easiest way to disable the touchpad is by changing the pointing device settings in your laptop's bios. Please follow the steps below for additional information:

1. Turn on your computer. Press F2 when Dell logo comes up. It will open the bios setup program.

2. Now, press Alt-p three times to get to page number 4. Near the middle of the screen you should see an option called Pointing Device. Please change it from touchpad - PS/2 Mouse to just PS/2 Mouse (this also works fine with USB mouse). Press ESC to exit the bios, make sure to save the changes.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Start up problem

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

Install Xp from CDon a 1300 inspiron

A clean install? Just insert the CD and follow instrutions on screen. Make sure you have "boot from cd/dvd" selected in the BIOS. If not; if I'm not mistaken, you can push any key to boot from the cd. After the computer restarts to complete the install make sure you do not push any keys on restart . It will finish by it's self.Don't forget your product key. I also found 3 application and 47 driver updates for your Inspiron 1300/B130 on the Dell support page that you might be interested in. Be sure to install them in order. Good luck, I hope this helps. If I 'fixed ya' please rate me. Dell dvd not working

First thing you need to check is whether the issue happens only if you are logged in to Windows or not. For you to check if it also happens outside of Windows, insert the Windows Operating System disk (XP or Vista) then shutdown the computer. Turn it back on. As soon as you see the Dell Logo, keep on pressing F12. Then select "CD/DVD ROM" from the choices and press enter. When you see the prompt "Press any key to boot from the CD", keep on tapping the "Enter" key. If your CD/DVD drive is working fine, you should see a page that'd say "Windows is loading files". If not then the system is not detecting your drive. Then check the BIOS page. F2 on the Dell Logo. Then look for Drive Configuration. If the drive isn't there, reseat it. Physically remove the drive from the computer and put it back in. Then restart.

Please rate this if it helped.
