You should just be able to go to the Ubuntu software centre and install it from there, you will be prompted for the admin password. Click on Applications > Ubuntu Software Centre and type "flash" in the search box. One you want to choose is called "Adobe Flash Plugin"

Adobe Flash Player failed to install.

When upgrading to a newer version of Adobe Flash Player, it (AFP), will not install if there is a previous version installed.

AND, it will Not automatically uninstall the older version.

Use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller tool. After it is finished, go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, download, and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

I'm running Windows XP. Using IE8, the youtube videos won't play. There is no warning or anything, just the video is black and there is no play button. On Google chrome, there is no problem with playing...

Well Sunkengarden, the videos you are watching on YouTube or any such websites are the Flash Player Applications. That means, the Browser on which you are trying watch the videos, needs Flash Player Application to be installed on your computer. Such traditionally most widely used flash players are Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight.
While you are using Google Chrome, there is no problem just because of Google Chrome already have in-built flash player within it. But the problem remains for IE or other Browsers.
Different Web-Browsers use different types of Adobe Flash Players (IE type or Non-IE type). So, for best results, I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE Adobe Flash Players on your computer to have all the browsers play the videos without any problem.
Download the Flash Players by clicking on the following links:
Hope this helps,

I want an operation manual for toshiba e-studio in english for free

Here is a link to an interactive Training Manual for the E-Studio 280:

http://www.toshibamedia.com/23028035045035114511/cbt-230-280-load.html

To view the Interactive Training Manual just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Training Manual.

Make sure you click on the yellow security bar at the top of the screen and the RUN ADD ON button to enable the flash player if necessary.

You will need ADOBE FLASH PLAYER installed on your computer to use the Interactive Manual.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE FLASH PLAYER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there and then follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

Thank you and good luck.

Getting adobe flash player to run in linux mepis

You probably found the solution by now, but I would rather answer it for others who might get linked to this page to be able to solve their problems too. In your terminal, cd to where you downloaded the package, then: $ sudo gdebi <packagename>.deb
Or you can try the following: $ dpkg -i <packagename>

Tried both solutions adobe flash player 10 still failed to register

You may need the latest Java Updates. Go to www.sun.com and download the latest Java Console to your computer. After installation, try to download Adobe Flash Player again. If it does not work then your operating system may not be compatiable with Adobe Flash Player 10. You may need to download an older version such as Adobe Flash Player 9.

You can find older versions of Adobe Flash Player such as 9 on www.cnet.com type in the search field (adobe flash player 9). After the options show up, choose the file to download and install.

Be sure to check your available memory and system speed which are also factors when installing flash software.

'Failed to install. For Troubleshooting please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166'for windows xp

I'm assuming that you were trying to install Adobe Flash Player. The best thing to do would be to remove Flash Player from your system entirely, and then try a clean install. Please go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html and click on the link following the word "Windows" below the text "1. Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller." Save this file to your desktop. Shut down ALL programs that you have running. Look in the system tray (next to the time) to make sure that everything is closed.

Run the uninstaller by clicking on the file that was placed on your desktop. You may be asked to restart your system. If you are, please do that before going any farther.

Once Flash Player is completely gone from your computer, please go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages/flash.html . Wait for a few minutes. When Flash Player is reinstalled, you will see a quick Flash animation in the middle of the lighter blue box telling you that your installation is complete.

Each time you upgrade your Flash Player, you should use this routine to ensure that no parts of the old version are left over to cause problems for the newest version.

Hope this helps! Diana Wellspring

There are a couple of steps you will need to do to install flash
1. Uninstall any old or already installed version of flash on the computer. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe You can also run this if you don’t have flash or are not sure.
2. Restart the computer
3. Download the stand alone installer from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe and save it to the computer desktop

Can't get Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX.exe to download.

Flash player 9 is actually not the latest version. If you want to install the latest version which is version 10, follow the steps below:

a. Download the most recent Flash Player uninstaller to your desktop from the TechNote below. Please read the instructions in the TechNote before running the uninstaller.
How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
b. Quit ALL running applications, including all Internet Explorer windows, other browser windows, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger or other messengers. Check the Windows system tray carefully to make certain no applications which might possibly use Flash Player is still in memory.
c. Open the following folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
d. Run Flash Player uninstaller.
e. Check if there are files left in the folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. If there are any files left inside the folder, delete the files.
f. Download and install the latest Flash player at:

Flash Player 10,0,12,36 Plug-In (for Firefox,Netscape,Safari,Chrome,etc)
