Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My Cario, WTW6200SNG, leals... I bought it at Spencers 2 1/2 years ago along with service contract for 5 years... The repair man has been here twice and still it leaks... I bought pan to sit machine in, has not stopped leak but at least it keeps it from going into my drywall and causing mold... Still why does it keep leaking?

In the first place you must make a complaint to the consumer protection cell in your district, can be filed online inmany places so check this out.so lets get the dealer concerned to give a proffessional job you are entitled.
The second part is to see the leak whic with a good powerful light will show you exactly from where it comes. It can be from the front loading door gasket, the outlet hose, the drum, the outlet valve or pump or the drain hose by itselt. The faulty component needs to be replaced. If the leaks appears at drain then the drain hose, valve pump must be checked .
hope my advice helps ?

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Registration of my washer and dryer, which are the worst appliances I have ever bought in my life.

Dear Sue,
Aha! You have found out the secret!
You are correct.
However, there are a few things you can do.
Until he passed away recently, I was best friends with an appliance parts man, who shared that the time of the "turn for the worse" was about 20 years ago.
2 things happened at that time.
1) The USA seriously began to buy everything possible overseas., and
2) Companies using computers began to use those to figure how to squeeze every last penny from the manufacturing process to make more money.
This meant making parts cheaper/ making parts to last only until the warranty was up. ( 60 days?/90 days?/one year?).
Your option?
Buy reliable old machines that will still last for 20 -- 40 years, and you will need to retain the services of an honest repair man to fix them when needed service every few years.
In the mean time, the company "Consumer's Reports" ( they publish a magazine) is what I go by to see what is still marginally good.
God bless your efforts.

Yes Elizabeth if you don't DIY the fix it's no worth having a repair service touch the machine.

I'm an knowledgeable owner and have helped many owners across 4 different forums save their $1K machine at reasonable cost. If you want to DIY I will help at this forum........ Google this ""FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement"" read thru the post and see if this is for you or someone that can help you DIY the work..............Good Luck dh1200s

I have a Dell laptop and I have had two repairs to it in less than one yrear. Yesterday, when I was on the phone with Dell, they offered me a 3yr service contract -- 100% P/L for $186.00 -- however, I must...

This type of extended warranty is similar to the insurance on your car If you pay the money but never need to have it serviced, then it is not a good deal If, however, you get only one issue serviced by them then you have received your money's worth If you have already had the unit serviced twice then I would suggest buying the warranty My experience with Dell, including the laptop I'm using right now, is that if the unit has any kind of issue once you will have other issues down the line

About 5 years ago, I was servicing many of these sets under a warranty service contract. This series of set is fairly complex to work on. It takes a very experienced tech who knows this model series very well to work on these.

After 4 to 5 years it is very possible that the picture tube (CRT) may be weak, and there can be fault conditons in the power supply and scan circuits. Most of the time, these sets are not feasable to service when out of warranty and there are major component failures. Considering that it is a CRT set proprietary replacement parts are not usually available from the manufactures. CRT sets are no longer being produced.

Technicaly, if you want to pay the cost and if the proprietary type replacement parts can be found, your set can be serviced by an experienced Sony service technician. When your set was in production a new factory replacement CRT alone was in the price range of $1200. This does not include the 3 to 4 hours of labour to replace it. If the flyback and horizontal output transistor has to be replaced along with a number of capacitors, you can add on at least another $300 to $500 minimum. Out of the shop a CRT job with a repair can cost about 1/2 the price of its new value!

For much less than what you say you paid for your set, you can get a new LCD or Plasma HDTV for about 1/2 of what you paid. Believe me, if you go for a high end Plasma or Sony set of today it will outperform your CRT set.
