Question about Bernina Virtuosa 150

1 Answer

I just bought a used Bernina 150 and the stitching is great but it is making really weird noises like a shaker squeking noise when I go at top speed.

I think this is an indication that you need to oil your machine. Follow the directions in your user's manual. Use special sewing machine oil that is clear and available from sewing shops. I also think it is best to clear out any fluff (lint) before you oil your machine.

Thumping noise

change the needle again, when you hear a thumping noise that
means the needle is either damaged or not the right one for the
fabric
adjust the top tension one letter or number higher till the stitch look
better
it show the machine name is bernina model is 440,, so I'm putting
in a link for a manual for the machine
http://www.bernina.com/getdoc/56b4ec85-1b1b-4d17-8519-e892adfa5fa2/032907-52-04_1103_a430_a440_a450_EN

if this is not the manual, then let me know & I will find you another
one.

I have just bought a new bernina 440QE - it makes a loud noise when turned on, which gets louder when you increase the sewing speed - I have a 240 which runs much quieter - is it a fault or is it normal?

That is a great machine, should sound realy good. Should sound just like a 240. Are you lubricating the hook (that is important with the 440). If that does not help I would take it in.

Machine not working after bobbin installation

Hi, it may be possible that you put the bobbin in the case upside down and its turning the wrong way. Flip it over and try it. When looking at the bobbin in the case from the back and you pull the thread, it should turn clockwise.
Hope this helped as anything else may take a tech to diagnose.

Knocking noise when sewing

If the machine does not knock when in straight stitch then it is the stitch width limiter. You would have to take off the side cover with a T20 torx screwdriver. Once open you will see an elongated U-shaped piece with a screw through the bottom of it (its maybe a half inch long or so). Its just above that big bottom thread guide. I think you need a T10 torx driver, loosen that screw and move that u-shaped part slightly (very slightly) so it isn't hitting anymore on the side to side action. It happens but can't really harm anything.
I'm sure thats it.

I have s Bernina deco 650 embrodiery machine and the stitches won't catch. I had this machine serviced before I moved from SD to an eastern state. It was sewing fine and just started making a noise like it...

Your timing is out in the bobbin area this will have to be reset, maybe the last time that you used it you had a cotton jam, and it was pulled out of alignment.
