Question about Samsung B2100 Cell Phone

2 Answers

I bought an unlocked quad band samsung B2100 cell phone for use in Canada. I use a Rogers pay as you go SIM card. I inserted the Rogers SIM card in the phone and then it gets stuck in a start up loop turning on and then restarting over and over. Is there any way to make the Rogers SIM card work in the Samsung B2100?

i got my sim card off ebay $15

I have the same problem here. I bought this phone unlocked and on my travels found that this phone will work with ATT in the States but not T-Mobile. Inserting the T-Mobile SIM resulted in the phone constantly rebooting. And the same problem is seen with any FIDO or Rogers SIM card staff tried out at the stores.

In the US, one guy at this store said that the problem was the SIM card design. Either my phone can't read newer SIMs or older ones. I wish I knew which one it is. And how do I know which designs are sold on eBay?? To buy a SIM off eBay and then find out I have the same problem is pointless!

Can I anyone help me out here?

Hi, I have a Samsung B2100 mobile phone. I am traveling to OZ in a week. I have unlocked the phone and have tried using other sims from Ireland in the phone. This works, but when I try an Australian...

This is the problem with the sim card, in most cases because of the voltage differences. I would recommend you to get another sim card or a replacement. There's no solution yet. Hope this helps. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Where can I buy a sim card to use while traveling out of Canada to the United States?

First, you need to make sure your phone is SIM unlocked. After unlocking your phone, you can purchase an Cingular (AT&T) SIM card on eBay. Then call 1-800-331-0500. And set up a Go Phone account.

Go Phone is owned by Cingular (AT&T) in the United States. This is a pre-pay cell phone account that uses the Cingular (AT&T) SIM cards. You will have several options as to how you will be billed depending on the service you require. Pre-pay data is also available too, for an extra fee with the Go Phone plan.

See Go Phone Plans: http://bit.ly/cIo8dG

AT&T uses the 850/1900MHz band (1900 MHz UMTS band for 3G data) for cell phones in the US. Make sure your phone can use this bands.

If you need to SIM unlock your phone, you can do this two different ways.

The first is to contact your service provider and inform them that you need to have your phone SIM unlocked for international travel. Most providers require your account to be in good standing and that you've been their customer for a certain amount of time. Then, it's free.

The second is to purchase an unlock code. These can usually be found on eBay for as little as $2 US.

To search for the unlock code for your phone, on eBay, type in your phone model and the words 'unlock code' and your current service provider. (Example: Samsung BlackJack i607 Unlock Code Rogers) Once purchased, simply follow the instructions sent to you with the code and unlock your phone - then use the Cingular (AT&T) SIM card with the Go Phone pre-pay plan.

Tip: On some phones you must insert a SIM card NOT used by your current service provider when you enter the unlock code.

My SGH M-300 was bought and locked in Canada. I am in the UK.Can it be unlocked forl use world wide. I believe it is a triband. Also, I donot find a slot for a simcard. Can y help please. thanks, Alan...

Hi
No it can't because that phone is made for Bell Mobility in Canada which only uses CDMA, so there is no SIM card slot on the phone. You will need to buy a phone that accepts SIM cards and better if you get a Quad-Band phone so it will work around the world with GSM providers

Nokia 2630 from Meteor network Ireland does not work with Rogers

the phone may not be picking up your network it could be a tri-band on 850mhz/1800/1900 or 900mhz/1800/1900mhz you will need to check the manual to see if it works with your simcard
