Question about Blitzz Technology (BWP712) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Internet half works with wireless adapter

My internet half works with the wireless adapter, it will go to yahoo, and other portals, but not any other sites. The internet works fine on my other two computers. One is wireless with a US robotics PCI card, the other is wired. I have a blitzz BWA 711 wireless router. Internet also works fine when directly connected to modem. What can I do.

Kinda odd one this.. Have you checked properties of the wireless icon in control panel/network connections - check dns server is on auto? If so, start a dos shell, type ipconfig /all and see if the dns info is the same as the other working pc's you have.. Also when right clicking the network icon, select repair, instead of properties, that does a heap of things to correct problems..

Also, from another user on Fixya, try this..

you may have another wireless connection other than your own set as automatic, or more than one connection in your settings of the same name, so right click on your network icon in your task bar or in network connections in device manager and select view all wireless connections, click on it and when all the connections show, highlght, delete all of them, then close the window.

Your notebook should now indicate that it found new wireless connections, click on the popup and select your connection name and click connect, at this point you will be asked to enter the passkey if you have security enabled.

might help.. Rgds,

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have wireless internet, and just bought a new Sanyo flatscreen with the option to use my internet on it...but it acts like it Needs a USB...does it HAVE TO have a ISB in order for me to use my internet...

The general "rule-of-thumb" for "internet ready" home theater components (TV, DVD, Blue-ray, etc.) is that they either require a wired ethernet connection, or a separately purchased "special" wireless ethernet adapter that can only be purchased from the manufacturer. The USB port will not usually give you a good internet connection with a "generic" wireless USB ethernet adapter.

In all the home theater stuff I have toyed with, the USB port allows you to watch movies or view pictures off a "jump drive" that has movies/pictures in a recognized format, and that is about it.

Anyway, unless you get a Sanyo wireless USB adapter specifically made for wireless ethernet on your set- even if you could get it to work, the bandwidth would probably make for poor picture quality- lots of screen freezes, jumping, etc. Most manufacturers have a separate, proprietary card slot for their wireless internet devices. The manufacturers do this to make a few extra bucks.
If you only have wireless ethernet at your place, you can purchase a wireless "portal" that will convert the wireless signal to ethernet so you can connect it to your set, but again it will be dependent on your wireless internet bandwidth for how well it works.
Good Luck, and Thank You for using FixYa!

Internet connection works on one laptop but not the other

First try forcing the DNS Address by channging the option to use the following DNS address in TCP/IP properties. primary DNS is 4.2.2.1 and the secondary DNS is 4.2.2.2 then try to connect. This should work if it doesnt follow the steps 2.
If it is Vista, then Vista has two FW administration user interface screens. One looks as the XP admin UI screen, and the other one is different and is the Advanced FW UI.
> Go to the Adv FW UI which is off of Control Panel. The icon looks like a brick wall.
> It will show you all the FW rules. So look for the filter name, and you can right-click the line and do what you need to do.Let me know whether this works?
