    This could be due to:
    Blown Speaker
    Shorted Speaker lead
    Defective amp in the deck

The screen says protect and it wont come off the screen or play radio or cds what do i do?

This radio is equipped with an anti-theft device, if the battery power is disconnected from the radio for more than a few minutes, it goes into lockdown or "protect" mode. The only way to get the code is to call the manufacturer with the product number and serial number, generally they will verify your identity and then provide you with the unlock code.

It wont play music. it keeps saying no file

: The reason your player says no files is because the files from I-tunes are in an unsupported format called MP4 or MPEG layer 4. The music formats that you MP3 Player supports are MP3, WMA or WAV files.

: Why do some of my MP3 files not play when transferred to the player?
A: First, make sure the Element MP3 player you are operating supports the MP3 file that you are attempting to play. Please reference www.elementelectronics.com to look up your model’s specifications.
Check to make sure there is no copy protection on your MP3 files. You can determine if the file is protected by right clicking on the file and selecting properties. In the properties window you can find whether the file has any copy protection placed on it. This normally happens while importing music files through Windows Media Player. To make sure that Windows Media Player does not copy protect music follow these steps.

1. From the Windows Media Player screen Click “Tools” on the menu bar at the top of your screen and select “Options”. If the menu bar does not appear, right click on the “Rip” button at the top of your screen and select “More Options”
2. Click on the “Rip Music” tab, uncheck “copy protect music”.
3. Click ok to save the new setting.

2001 lincoln. radio says PHONE across it and no

It thinks you are using a phone with it, they are designed to switch to phone when someone call you in the car etc. not sure why it is doing it as normally you would have to set it up to allow it.

I have no clue how to play a cd there... I mean, the radio is no problem, i can turn it off and on, can search for a prog, no big deal. but how do i start the turntable? maybe someone even has a manual for...

to start a turntable press Start button and put an arm with a needle across record, if there is no start button, just put arm across record - it should auto-start; to play cd put it in and press play (play button shoud be near the cd slot, together with stop, skip and others)

Kenwoods have a protection system that works when a speaker wire has grounded out.
Check all the speaker wire connections.

either too many speakers hooked up (bad ohm load) or internal flaw try unhooking speakers and cranking it up while playing if it stays on its the speaker wiring or even the speakers by themselves

My boombox is displaying the word "Protect" in the display. ???

The protect message indicates that there is a problem with the final stage of the amplifier section. This unit will require repair as a reset will not clear this. There is an audio amp IC inside that needs to be replaced. Figure on about $15 or so for the part.
