One of the safety switches in the control circuit for the secind stage are bad... the contacts are pitted or corroded and are not passing the full voltage will be hard to find the bad one because it will only do it under load...I would start jumping out safety switches for a short time and checking voltage to the coil til you find the culprit...

Electrical issue When does the K2 heating element contactor pull in?

Likely 2 stage heat. If you raise the temp, say, 10 degrees, it should call for 2 stages of heat.

I have a Trane model TWE030P13FBO that keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse tied into the transformer. Just to see if I could solve the problem I put in a 10 amp fuse and the transformer smoked and I'm sure now...

You have a short in the low could be the t-stat or the wiring to the t-stat...also could be the coil if a contactor, or a wire rubbed through somewhere...

To find it you need to start to isolate sections of the low voltage circuit and then ohm out each section...problem is that some will still not show up with out power applied... believe me this is not fun and can make ya pull your hair patient and persistent...
but as you found out do not try a higher amp fuse...transformers work on smoke...and when the smoke comes out they no longer work... :-)

My rooftop Trane A/C unit shows high humidity on the thermostat, will not cool the house during the day but cools fine at night. What could the problem be? Also, how can I lower the humidity in the house?

High humidity causes Icing of the cooling coils. Avoid constant running of the a/c. Meaning let the AC pull the house dow 2 - 3 degrees at a time.. The unit shutting off will allow the ice to melt. Make sure the drain is clear by going outside and chkg for drainage. Once the house is reasonably dehumidified the ac can be set and left on its own.

The coil has to much condensation, the coil is clean and the drain its okay, also the fan is working okay, I dont know what is the problem

make sure drain has a trap so it wont **** outside air into unit and cause a vaccume in evap. compartment which will cause the water not to run out correctly.

A/C blows warm air

The condensate line was filling and the kill switch was turning off the compressors but the blower is not tied in so it kept running. When the water pump caught up it would take five minutes to turn back on and the temperature was roller coastering. They disconnected the kill switch. now I'm watching to see where the condensate will go if the pump can't keep up. I'm not sure for the long term if this is the best solution.
