I have a question about my gateway nv54 i twisted the screen and the screen cracked what should i do?

Most laptops have the ability to operate with just the power cord. Have you tried it? If it won't work, then that's another issue.

Your operating system shouldn't need a new driver for that. CD drives are recognized configured automatically. You can try cleaning the laser lens on the CD Drive with a CD/DVD laser lens cleaning kit. If that doesn't work then you'll need to replace the drive.

try pressing the power button in and holding it for four seconds , the gateway will turn off

the power button on the nv54 is located on the right side of the laptop, on the hinge

Check whether the bluetooth driver is installed correctly else you may have to reinstall the driver
alternatively also check in BIOS whether the bluetooth radio is enabled.

click fn + 6 and it will turn on

Is your NV54 'approved' by microsoft for windows 7? Check the hardware compatability list.

Because the machine is new and in warranty i recommend that you contact Gateway to arrange to send it to them for repair. They will take you through a few troubleshooting pointers first before booking it in.
I would not try fixing the problem without help from a Gateway technician as because its new its up to them to deal with and laptops are designed to last at least a year before problems arise but in your case it's three weeks. There is obviously something wrong for it to go down within such a short length of time.

Just a thought..

Grab the upper-right corner of the screen and wiggle it back and forth, like you do when you open it. If the screen blinks on and off, it could be that the screen is cracked from twisting it each time you open the laptop, or the ribbon cable could have a break in it.
