Hi,

Click on the following link to see an owners manual for a Carrier Window AC.

If what you need is only the electrical diagram, the one in this unit is basically the same as the Kenmore.

Keep me posted!

I got my craftmade ceiling fan about 10 years ago, the fan has now stopped working but the light works, I changed out the switch on the wall that was not the problem sometimes I will turn on the wall...

pretty sure its the 3 speed pull chain switch.$4.50 to $6.00 at home depot or lowes or hardware/elecrtical store.
how 2 replace switch.
1.turn off breaker to fan/fan lights, probably that whole room.
may need extension cord & floor lamp from closest room with electric, so u can see.
2.need 6ft step ladder to get up to fan.look see how to get to fan speed switch. speed switch unscrews from outside but body of switch is inside fan cover.
3. need to take fan off ceiling to replace switch.
4.switch has 4 wires, power feed into switch and 3 selector
wires that go to high speed winding, medium speed winding and low speed winding.
speed selector switch has 4 settings, off, low, medium, high.

about ac circuits , black wire is 120 volts, hot.
white wires are neutral return wire. an ac voltmeter will read 120volts ac with its red and black probes between black, hot and
white,neutral.
white= neutal=ground which is green. If wired properly and polarity was observed, white and green ground wires both connect to the neutral ground buss bar in the circuit breaker panel box and are the same electrical point.

black wires, and the selector handle getting the hot juice into the fan and white returns the used juice to the circuit breaker panel box.
If polarity was observed, you can touch white and ground without getting a shock.
black will jolt or even fry you dead, so make sure the breaker to the fan is off, so that the circuit is de-energized before you touch it.

PLEASE NOTE--- make drawing on paper of what color wires from the fan motor go to what color wires on the selector switch.
If the switch has 4 black wires, you need to put different color electrical tape as a marker, on each wire. or ,to be cheap, you can use white paper, scissors to cut paper, and pencil and write 1,2,3,4 on the paper and tape to the 4 switch wires.

that is: wire # 1 from the switch goes to the black wire from the wall--ac hot
wire #2 from switch goes to yellow fan motor winding,
wire # 3 from switch goes to orange wire from fan motor

wires are specific and NOT interchangeable.

go to www.ehow.com & type into search engine box
how to replace fan motor speed selector switch.

Chesapeake, given your symptoms you'll be looking at installing a new Selector Switch. But, before you go there... UNPLUG THE UNIT OR SHUT OFF THE BREAKER!!! Your selector switch does two things at a time, It energizes the fan motor (which it IS doing) and energizes the compressor at the same time. The voltage to your compressor goes from the wall into the selector, out of the selector, through the temp control then to the compressor. When the temp control is satisfied, it interrupts power to the compressor. The click you hear is the temp control being NOT satisfied and trying to send power to the comp. But if there is "no power" to send (i.e., the selector switch has failed)the compressor won't know to engage. Remove the front panel and filter. Remove the control box housing. Remove the knobs from the controls. You will now see the selector switch. Remove the 2 screws that fasten it (don't remove the wire yet!) and install the new switch. Then, one wire at a time, remove the wires from the old switch and install them on the new one. ***If you have an OHM meter, check the temp control before ordering a selector because this may be the problem and NOT the selector! To do this... remove the 2 wires from the temp control, set the control to "coldest". Then with your meter, test OHM's between the terminals. If you see "zero" OHM's, it's good. If you see no change in your meter, it's bad and THIS is the source of your problem. If you don't have a meter... you can test using this procedure... cut a 6" length of wire and strip the ends to about 3/8", twist the copper ends tightly. Remove both wires from the temp control, then insert one end of your jumper wire into one terminal and the other end into the other terminal. Make sure the "jumpered" wires are away from anything metal!!! And plug the unit back in. Now turn the unit on. If the unit fires up? It's the temp control, If not? it's the selector switch. Kenmore coldspot ice maker quit

Hi,
The first step you need to do is to turn the water off to the refrigerator so it quits making until you get it fixed.
If your fridge has the control boards in each side of the freezer cabinet that controls the icemaker, then you have a failed board. If you have a standard icemaker with the metal shutoff arm then you have a failed motor module in the icemaker. You can remove the icemaker and unplug the wiring connector from it so you can leave the water on to the dispenser.

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com

1998 olds 88 heater off switch is on a vacuum line

Have you checked the vacuum line with a gauge? If so, how many pascal units does the vacuum line read? Vacuum gauges are around $5. Furthermore, I believe the design is sealed vacuum only system. The solenoid could be bad, but to my knowledge it is not an electrical component. A split in one of the vacuum lines could be cause of your problem. You would have to trace the all the vacuum lines back to the source to find the problem. You would need that gauge to detect a leak in the system. Could also replace all the vacuum lines on principle since the vehicle is going on two decades.

Compressor/fan not shutting off

If this is a window air unit, it is probably the selector switch. If this is an electronically controlled unit, I don't have a clue.
