Question about Garmin Forerunner 405 Sports Watch/ HRM
When they won't charge you can narrow it down to a few things. These are the battery, the connector, and the power supply adaptor.
If the battery is say 1-2 years old and has been charged a fair amount or times it may need replacing. Usually it should show some life when on the charger but die as soon as you try to run it on the battery.
The connectors sometimes get loose just from being inserted and extracted. This will cause it not to charge. Usually you can get some life out of it if you rotate or gently move it around and it will make contact. No fix for this other than replace the unit.
The charger is not supply any power ie its dead so your battery never charged and is probably flat. You may have got a brief blink of life after the watch sat for a while before the battery ran down too far.
And lastly the mainboard inside the watch has a problem. Unfortunately the only fix is to replace.
If you think it is under warranty still then take it in, otherwise you can try replacing the battery. Past that point you needto consider getting a replacement as it isn;t cost effective (worth it) to repair.
