Question about Whirlpool LER4634J Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer will not turn on. I hear a faint electrical sound when I push the start button but the dryer will not start. It worked fine through the last cycle. This is a stacked washer/dryer model & the washer is working well. It's a whirlpool heavy duty thin twin

Dryer does not heat up

No pilot light, you can generally hear a faint hiss as it burns, if there were one. The burner is ignited electrically, similar to when you push that button on a gas BBQ, only a dryer does it automatically (push to start button) when turned on (and the door is closed). If you remove the bottom panel, you should see the igniter spark, if working properly.

It sounds like the drum may be stuck. Turn the dryer on with the door open, just keep the button pushed. Then try to turn the drum by hand, and see if it will start to turn.

Dryer won't start all the time. can hand start unit.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like ur motor is going out. Had this happen to my last dryer. If this is the case it will eventually just stop. Try running it without any laundry in it. if this works, then load it and see if it still works. (poor little motor has to work a bit harder with a full load) good luck.
