Hi, I would like to replace the acrylic handle on our delta shower faucet. Acrylic handle uses the rp212 stem/ball, will the rp70 ball interchange so that I can use a metal handle or do I need to pull out plumbing and replace entire set.

Why shower head drip when faucet is open half way to mix cold with hot

If its single handle you have a bad ball valve or seals they make kits to replace the ball assembly for single lever showers....... you will need to have the water off for an hour or so to fix this...... shut water off at street or inside the house then remove the handle to shower if acrylic you remove the cap in middle of handle then remove screw then handle comes off once you do that there is usually a crown nut ( chrome doam ) that holds the stem into the body of shower manifold...... take a chanel lock or vice grip put cloth around it to keep from scratching and turn in counter clockwise direction once you remove the crown then the assembly will come out you may have to gerk it by attaching vice grip to stem ( btw always put cloth over drain to prevent you from losing anything...now that its out you have to go to big box store and match up a new ball assembly with seals and spring ( be sure to note if it is moen or whatever but i always take assembly and go .... they sell two kits one a seal and spring replacement and two seal spring and new ball go home take the old seal and spring out feel around with your finger to be sure all is smooth and put new ball in ( these are keyed meaning there is a notch to match up ) make sure ball and collar seats before you put the crown back on and there ya go! good luck

CANT FIND HOW TO REMOVE THE HANDLE TO ADJUST OR REMOVE THE SCALD GUARD

1-For a metal lever handle it will have a allen head screw at the base of the lever to remove with a 1/8" allen wrench. If you can not see screw it may have a cap covering it to remove.

2-To remove plastic acrylic caps remove plastic cap to acess screw to remove handle.

Once handle is off remember the location of the dial to adjust it counter clockwise to increase hot water flow. Slide indicator dial back on stem and reposition about a 1/4" turn counter clockwise and recheck for change in temperature.

If you need any more help refer to the link provided for a digram of faucet. Go to parts down load and view faucet parts view. I hope this will be helpful in solving your issue.

I can not take the handle off of my shower valve to get to the cartridge. i have a seabury grohe shower valve.

There is usually a set screw near the base of the handle that holds the handle on the valve stem if the handle is metal. if it is acrylic then there is a plastic cover that hides a screw which fastens it to the valve stem.

Delta 600 series single handle shower. replaced cam, ball, and seals and springs. still, VERY little cold water when turned to "full cold". (thought changing the RP212 ball was the answer - no go.). ...

Hi,
The hole under the seal and spring for the cold side is plugged with dirt....
a small screw driver will sometimes do the trick, and sometimes you need to unhook the piping underneath and blow air back through it...

Delta single lever faucet leakingafter bing shut off.

Will need to get delta faucet rebuild kit. Available at home depot, lowes or hardware store. It consists of valve stem seals & springs. The larger kit will contain ball assembly. Turn off water to faucet. Unscrew handle via set screw under plastic cap. Unthread cap over ball assembly. Pry out valve seals & springs. Reverse procedure to install.

This is the third time I have had to replace my Moen T170 acrylic tub and shower handle. It keeps cracking, making it impossible to turn the water on or off. Is this a typical problem with this type of...

Acrylic stuff checks and then cracks... junk!

You might try putting some non-hardening filler where it goes over the shaft to distribute the load. Also don't overtighten retaining screw and maybe use a flat washer (brass) if they have one of those lockwashers that digs into the plastic. Any edges and holes are where the cracks start.

Moen single tub shower handle insatll

The valve has a faceplate that attaches with two screws and depicts the hot and cold mixing scheme on it. in the center of this is where the valve stem is located. It has a chrome escutcheon that slides into the faceplate and over the stem. There is a small -U- schaped clip that slides into the top of the valve body where the valve stem is seated that retains the valve stem. With all this in place all you have left is the acylic handle that has a unique shape to it on the internal portion that corresponds to the shape and position of the valve stm. Align the handle and stem and push the handle on. A small screw goes into the center of the handle to attach it to the valve stem. LASTLY you should have the acrylic button that covers the screw holding the handle on. All you do is align it appropriately and push the button onto the handle. The chrome handle version is essentially the same but is retained by a small allen screw on the underside of the base of the handle. I hope this assists you and thanks for using Fix Ya. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
