That would have to be the motor bearings or the shaft bearings for the saw blade.
I would take off the belt and spin each one separately to try to find out which one it is a replace the bearigs.

Craftsman miter saw

Hi Ralph:
Sounds similar to a dry bearing problem that I experienced.
I'd try oiling the bearings.
With the saw unplugged you could try turning the blade to determine if you can feel any "grinding" that would confirm the bearing problem.
Hope this helps.

When i turn off my table 10'' 315.218060 saw makes alot grinding noise

You probably need to replace the bearings on the arbor shaft. If you have the means to disassemble and press the bearings off, and you can precisely measure the ID, OD and Width of them (there will be two of them and they are probably both the same) you can buy replacement bearings on-line pretty cheap. Make sure you buy sealed bearings. These will be standard bearings, which you don't have to buy as replacements from Sears.

FOX 254 MM TABLE SAW E36-529 PRESS START SAW STARTS THEN BLOWS TRIP

Making sure the saw is unplugged ( not just turned off ) and using a pair of heavy gloves, grasp the saw blade carefully and see if it turns freely. If not then dis-connect the drive belt from the saw and try again. If he saw turns easily now and make no grinding noises then it appears your trouble is elsewhere. While the belt is dis-connected try to turn the motor my hand. It should turn smoothly but with a little resistance. If it turns ok then we must look elsewhere again.

Look at the specifications plate on the saw to determine how many amps the saw requires to run and then check the rating of the circuit breaker that trips when you turn on the saw. If the saw requires 15 amps to run and is on a 15 amp circuit then it needs to be relocated to another outlet, preferably one with a 20 or 25 amp breaker.

Bad vibration and noise from saw

Are you sure blade is straight, and mounted on arbor correctly? that's the first thing to check. Or remove blade and 2 arbor plate's and run saw. If you have a vibration after that you have a bearing problem.( rear bearings go bad on these saw's) other they are the best saw for the price. We have about 50 of the 4000 model. hope that help's Never had a vib problem.

How do I align the saw blade with the saw table I have a 10 inch Delta Contractor's saw that is about 10 years old. The blade is not straignt with the miter slot. andyc@bergeralllied.com

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

Makita 2704 I overloaded my motor

if the motor RPM drops dramatically when the noise starts, it is probably a dry motor bushing, if this just started, lubricating the motor may just fix it.
