The freezer compartment may not be as cold as previously. Check the condition of the door seal of the freezer compartment or try setting a colder temperature. The Ice Maker has a Thermostat that senses cube temperature and controls a heater switch which turns the ice tray heater on to free the cubes for dump. The problem could be that this thermostat, if failing, is delaying the cycle.

Not making ice as fast as it use to

Typical freezer temperature is around -18C or '0 'F. First check that this is true in your unit. If the freezer is not cold the ice maker will not perform as fast. The colder the freezer the faster the cycle.

Make sure that air flow around the ice maker is clear.

If air flow is good and freezer is around "0" the thermostat that actuates the ice maker cycle could be defective. Replace!
Hope this helps?

My IM115 frigedaire ice maker, doesn't seem to be making ice fast enough

Hi,

The key to ice production is temperature, so if the unit is running at "0" the fan also has to run to cool faster. That a good look at these items and see where the issue may be. In this environment point blank information is the only way anyone could assist you. Lack of information causes no response or incomplete answers. Check the temperatures also check the ice maker for pealing or flaking mold issues. Good luck

ICE MAKER THERMOSTAT

You should be getting a fresh batch of ice every two hours or so. If it is taking longer than that, then the freezer temp is not going down low enough, fast enough for the ice maker to work properly. Also check to see if the heater element for ice removal is working - if it has burned out the new cubes are stuck in there and it can take a while for them to be freed up so a new ice making cycle can commence.

The icemaker is not making ice as fast as it would before. It dumps a tray of ice about every 4 hours.

Make sure that there are no kinks in the water line.
Next, inspect the feeler arm of the ice maker and make sure that it is down and not blocked by any ice cubes. If it's raised, it has turned the ice maker off. This arm needs to be in the lowered position to activate the ice maker An over-abundance of ice in the bin will make the arm stay up as a safety feature to keep the ice maker from making more ice than the bin can hold.

Not making ice fast enough

Good day,
Assuming the cubes it's making are the proper size, the speed the ice maker produces ice is determined by the temperature in the freezer.
When the ice maker harvests a batch of ice, an electric heater heats up the whole ice maker.
There is a thermostat embedded in the ice maker. It must cool back down to approx. 12 degrees before making the next batch. The colder the freezer compartment, the faster the cycles.

If the cubes are too small then that is usually caused by a blockage in the water filter if your unit has one, or the water valve that feeds water to the ice maker is getting weak, or lastly the water supply to the machine has become partially restricted.

On extremely rare occasions the thermostat built into the ice maker goes out of calibration which can cause a delay in cycling and requires the ice maker to be replaced. But again, it is a very rare occurrence.

Ice maker not making enough ice. does +/- change timeing of ice maker off of 6 hours

no. That screw adjusts how long the water valve stays open, thus how big the cubes are. Some icemakers only make 4-6 batches a day, depending on how well the freezer is working and holw fast it recovers. The internal thermostat of the icemaker has to reach approximately 14 degrees before it will begin dump cycle. Clean the condenser,(the fins or coils outside the refrigerator) by vacuuming or blowing out and see if that improves ice maker production

Ice maker not making any ice!

it either is the water vavle burned out or the ice make went out usualy that is a common problem when the line freezes up to test the ice maker there take the front cover off ice maker then there should be two holes in the front a hole that has m and the on next to it put a jumper wire in that hole if it dont rotate the ice maker is bad. or if it is the other kind of ice maker take a flat head screw driver and turn the screw with on the motor gear clock wise keep turning it until it runs on its own you should get the same results like the above if ice maker test good the water vavle is bad check make sure you have no restrictions in the water line take the line off the vavle and let it run in a bucket to see what kind of water pressure you have it should come out fast

I would replace the water filter on the back of the refrigerator.they eventually become clogged and prevent the normal water flow to the ice maker.

Freezer Problem

The only thing I can think of is your icemaker heater is staying on. When your icemaker goes into a harvest mode, (dumping ice and then re-filling with water) there is a "U" shaped heater (located on the under side of the icemaker) that comes on to release the frozen cubes from the icemaker mold. If this heater is continuously hot, it will cause temperatures in the freezer to rise.
