1993 cadillac seville sts 4.6 litre keeps heating up not the thermostat what else could it be?

225 F equates to 107.22 Celcius
normal operating range for engines is 85 c(185F) to 98 C (208 F)
100 C is boiling so 212 F is maximum temp anything over is excessive and requires attention

Not a reset for the old car. They work or don't. This is a search and fix problem.

1039 = (4.6L engine) loss of road sensing data.

1039 = (4.9L) engine) SSS (speed sensitive suspension)signal loss.

The 1039 code requires extensive diagnostic testing.

Did your car over heat at any time if so check the Oil if it looks muddy or like cholic milk it has a warped, or cracket head or a blowen head gasket...........Hope tis is not the case and good luck

I had same issue. 1994 Cadillac Seville SLS serp diagrams not like my engine. Found that it is the same as 1993 Cadillac STS Northstar!

if its a northstar engine its1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8 if its a 4.9 engine its 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 in 1993 0nly the eldorado etc and the seville sts had the northstar engine

Very easy, just remove front tires and unbolt, BUT I doubt you are asking right question. Not mounts, but mount in dead front center is problem. There are 4 mounts, transmission center back, left center and right center and front center. That takes full torque of motor and heat from exhaust. GM has a shield for exhaust.

4.6L lower rad hose 4.9L upper rad hose trace it out youll find it

dose it have an electric fan ? if it does look to see if the fan is working hope this helps.

neither the 93 seville is just that it's the 4.9 liter before the northstar sts 4.6 came out in same year
