I'm assuming you mean the strip of translucent plastic on which the carriage runs. I was able to reattach mine - it requires small hands and a flashlight, as well as some patience!

The punched-out holes at each end of the strip have to be correctly aligned to fit into the metal prongs (I found the left side to be most difficult). It took me four or so tries and about twenty minutes.

I can not manually move the printer carriage on my HP Photosmart B210e printer

Might be service station jammed.Service station work is to clean the print heads, stores spitting ink init as we as capping the print heads to protect from the nozzle drying..After switching off the machine service station capping the print heads and arrest the carriage assm for protecting the print heads, in this condition carraige assm wont come out until its released by service station. Its required expert to release the service station, if you force to pull it will damages the print heads.. You justify what you can do for this issue...If you are capable do it...But care fully

Carriage Jam

Carraige rod is the rod that holds the cartridges and moves while printing on the paper and spreads ink on the paper and if this rod is jammed it is known as carraige jam.

It say carriage jam

Hi friend,

What probably happened is that paper jam caused the carraige alignment sensor to get out of place or to get covered, moved, etc and the printer doesn't know what to do...

What I would suggest trying is, unplug the printer, try pulling the carraige out to the center and then close it and plug it back in, see if this kicks it enough to reset itself.

Thanks,

The ink cartridge carriage won't stop in the open so I can take it out to replace it.

Hi Try this...

Just give it something to print.
Once carriage moves...
Pull the power cord.

That should allow you to slide carraige and get at them.

Carriage jam

Unplug the power for about 5 min and then try again.
Make sure there is no paper or any other objects blocking the carraige (it's where the ink cartridges sit on).
Last resort would be to take it to a printer repair shop.
