Question about Dell Office Equipment & Supplies

My dellv305 will not scan to computer.it is always trying to download a application list then says it can not retrieve application list.this has happened before i think i found something to down load but dont remember how i did it.why does this happen.

Lexmark x5650 cannot retrieve application list


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

I am unable to scan. While in the Scan Mode, the message says "Downloading scan application list from your computer, please wait" The next message says "cannot retrieve scan application list from my...


the reason why the printer is giving you that error msg is because the all in one center is not communicating properly with the programs on your computer to your printer.

try to scan directly to your computer using the all in one center instead.

Try resetting the printer by turning it off, disconnecting it from the computer, restart the computer, turn the printer back on and then reconnect it to the computer. If this doesn't work try reinstalling the drivers and software.

Fax works except scan option


that's is a driver issue..
you need to uninstall your current printer driver and then restart your computer ..
and then install it again,,,
because your scanner application has been corrupt..

please let me know if it solve the problem..

Lexmark Scanner - "cannot retrieve application list" Won't Scan - HELP please!


Microsoft Paint ----> 'File' -----> 'From scanner or camera' (while the Lexmark is in scan mode). Just tried it and it really works.

No its seem to be some software clashed problem! Try to remove your old software and then try to clean registry and then install again then it should work!
