Nintendo DS Lite Battery needs to be changed. How can I take off cover?

All you need is a small phillips screwdrive. Use this to undo the small screw and then the cover will come off. The battery is also very easy to take out, just be careful not to damage the pins inside when you remove the battery.

Nintendo Ds & Lite Standby/Sleep Fix Mod.


What's Needed.
  • -(-) flat 1/32" for removing the rubber sticker near the "L" and "R" keys
  • -(-) flat 3/32" for Nintendo DS skrews (tri-wing skrews)
  • -(+) cross #0 for removing battery cover/slot skrew and "L/R" area skrews
  • Radio Shack .022 dia. Silver-Bearing Solder Rosin-Core
  • Cordless Butane Solder old Wall Lenk solder (whatever works for you)
  • USB Cable white wire (prob any peice of wire will do)
  • box cutter to strip wires (personally hate most wire strippers)
  • scissors to cut wires

  • Unscrew every tri-wing screws with the screwdriver

(Note that pin 1 is actually the second point from the right. If you look closely at your DS Lite you'll see that the one on the far right is not actually connected to the card slot. You can't quite make it out from the pictures, but you get the point.)

Nintendo DS lite won't turn on the screen is black it shuts off immediately after turning it on.


Remove the battery cover off the back of the unit. (One small Philips screw.)
Remove the battery.
Leave the system without the battery for 10-15 minutes.
Replace the battery.
Re-install the battery cover.

DS lite only playing one type of game


Reset Factory Settings for Nintendo DS 1. Use a small screwdriver to unscrew the back cover.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Wait a few seconds.
4. Replace battery.
5. Turn on DS.
6a. If you have to re-enter your nick-name/time and date etc, it has worked! Go to 7.
6b. If not, remove the battery again and wait longer.
7. Replace cover and screw back in place.

Yes the touch screen can be replaced, you can buy a new one on ebay for $10.00 you will also need a triwing screwdriver, also on ebay. you can try nintendo to see if it's under warranty.

Deleting a user on nintendo ds lite


It is simple. Your DS/DS Lite needs to have 1 user. You can change the user but you cannot delete the user.

Nintendo DS Lite setup failure


Could be a bad battery. Open the battery cover and take out the battery for a little then put it back in and you can setup stuff again.
