Blacked out. won't come on. no red "on" light. Outlet tested hot. Recently started turning off and re-starting.

I assume you tested the outlet by plugging in another device. Sounds to me like the internal power supply may be bad. This is better than the backlight going bad as a power supply is usually much cheaper to get a hold of. I'm not sure of your level of expertise, but please be aware that there is high voltage inside your unit. I recommend having a trained professional do this as the risk of shock is quite high. I would tell this professional to check the power into the power supply section and out of the power supply section. if it is bad, order a whole new power supply board. Repairing these is quite difficult, even in a lab. shopjimmy.com is a good source for tv parts.

most likely power supply, those power supplies are horrible and the slightest power surge cooks them. a majority of them I get in for repair are p/s issues, a few for mobo issues.

Insignia quit working after storm

Check the fuses on the power supply board first. They usually blow when you get a power surge. You may be able to replace them and get the TV running for a few dollars. If the fuses are good then the power supply board will be the issue. The main board should not be damaged because the surge has to go through the power supply board first.

MY HP 530 DOES NOT CHARGE ON AC POWER ALONE.iT KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN WHEN AM WORKING ON MY LAPTOP WHEN ITS BEING CHARGED. PLEASE HELP

I have experienced this problem with several HP laptops. Invariably the solution has been replacing the power supply. It seems the HP power supplies go bad but don't quite die resulting in them still delivering power, just not quite enough.

Just quit during operation

could of just popped fuse. Remove cover and look for fuse next to power supply. If fuse is good, it may be bad relay or power supply if there is no power

Unable to boot os after power supply change

I would make sure you connected the Power to the main switch correctly it is usually a 3 wire connect, check all connections on the HDD, motherboard, and CD's. also check the WATs rating on your old power supply against the WATs on the new power supply, if the new one is less that is probably your issue.

PLZkeep me posted.

Humming noise

IT sounds like the fan bearings are going out already, or have flat spots on them that cause vibration at speed. Try calling the manufacturer and tell them the fan either quit working or is about to quit.

most of the time you need to replace the mother board as well as the power box, it shorts the mother board out.
