Display went out, only comes on for about a second when power button is pushed off and on. Opened monitor up, looks like two coils labeled L1 and L2 are burned at the top. The two caps most people are talking about c114 and c115 look just fine. Monitor is about 3 years old.

- Mine will turn on when it's not plugged in to the comp and will show "non connection". But! When it's plugged in it's the same as I've read here. push the on button and it immediately goes out. Now, I can replace parts but I'd sure like to know what part to replace! Any Suggestions???- tjnstaceyOct 15, 2008
- i had same problem, took monitor apart and found one solder connection on inductor had never been solderd in the bath, sunk the solder in socket and has been working now- Guest

- Me too! Same problem described here ... Using dual display (both same Sceptre X9G Komodo II) about 3 years old now. Just recently the one monitor display would be dark at startup. For a few weeks I just powered it off and back on and it would then stay lit until the next time. However, now the screen will only stay on for a second (long enough to display the desktop) and then shuts itself off. Blue light is lit. Connections are good. I switched DVI cables to troubleshoot, and the problem remains with the same monitor so I know something's wrong. I can't seem to find manufacturer's info online anywhere -- anyone have it? Do you really think it necessary to send back or if I'm technically savvy enough could I manage this fix? Please advise. Thx.- sunsisterJul 04, 2008

I had the exact problem with mine when I just bought it -- It would turn on for a second or two and the screen would go blank. I had to send it back to the manufacturer to get it fixed. It was a minor problem and they just replaced a part and sent it right back to me. It has worked perfectly since then. Hopefully yours is still under warranty. fyi -- I think that it was a problem with the power supply unit.

I found the power supply/inverter on Ebay for $40.00.
It is an LM004 Rev2 for the X9G Komodo VI.
It came from Germany.
I had the inverter section go out.
I had replaced all the caps. The capacitors were not the problem.
