Question about Amana Dishwashers
If you want to DIY then read below.
Remove the agitator from inside the washer by loosening rubber nubs with a screwdriver.
Then loosen bolt underneath agitator cap with a socket wrench.
Check clutch assembly area for wear and tear. They can be found in the upper portion of the agitator assembly.
If the dogs (which turns the clutch) are in bad shape, try replacing with a dog kit.
Put agitator back on and test
If its spins out on the next load you do, you're good to go. It could be one these more complex issues: Bad Wiring harness, Bad Motor, Bad Transmission, Bad Motor Coupling.

If you don't wish to DIY, then it is my professional advice to call your Amana repair, and request a service call, now when the service man arrives please ask him for a 'Quote" before allowing any work to start, this way you can get an idea of costings etc.
