No Power

Most power issues with the Wii can be fixed by resetting the AC adapter. You can easily reset the AC adapter by following these steps:
1. Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).

2. The AC adapter must remain unplugged at both ends for a full 2 minutes.
3. We also recommend you unplug anything connected to the USB ports and the Nintendo GameCube Controller ports (such as LAN Adapters, keyboards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, etc.).
4. While you're waiting, check the AC Adapter for the following:
? Make sure that the word "Wii" and the model number "RVL-002 (USA)" molded into the AC adapter. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible and may not work correctly.
? Check the AC Adapter for physical damage. Physical damage, such as frayed wiring or a cracked housing can cause the system to shut down. If your AC Adapter shows signs of physical damage and needs to be replaced, you can purchase one from Nintendo's online store.
5. After you've waited 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. If the power light comes on and stays on, then it appears resetting the AC Adapter worked.
If resetting the AC Adapter did not fix your power issues, please continue reading:
? Avoid the use of unlicensed products such as memory cards, controllers, and cheat devices. Some of these products are poorly manufactured and may result in damage to your system. If one of these products is attached to your system, remove it and try resetting the AC Adapter (see above).
? Check any accessories that connect to the Nintendo GameCube Controller ports or the USB ports of the Wii -- whether licensed or not -- for physical damage. Physical damage, such as frayed wiring or a cracked housing can cause the system to shut down. Remove any damaged products and try resetting the AC Adapter again (see above).
? Make sure the Wii has good ventilation. Avoid operating the Wii while it's on carpeting or inside an enclosed space. If you have the Wii placed in a vertical position, make sure the vent on the bottom is lined up properly with the hole in the plastic stand and no foreign material is obstructing that hole.
? Check the vents on the back and side of the Wii for dust build up. The system will shut down if it cannot vent properly to prevent overheating. If there is a build-up, remove it using a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
? Make sure that your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch. If you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.
? Make sure the AC adapter is attached properly. Firmly plug your AC adapter into the back of the Wii (the port is labeled 12V IN) and into a working wall outlet (not a power strip or surge protector). Click here for detailed instructions.
? Once plugged in, check the power light on the Power button to see if the system is receiving power.
If the power is still continually shutting off regularly, please click here for repair options. For this particular symptom, it is best to include your Wii console's AC Adapter with your system. This will help our technicians ensure they are able to resolve your issue.

Remote not working

more info required.. do the lights come on at all, if so - synch the wiimote with the wii console while on the WARNING screen(press the red button on the wiimote & the red button near the SD card slot on the console.
If no lights come on the wiimote - you either need new batteries or you may have damaged the wiimote by dropping liquid on it or somethiing similar...sometimes cleaning the wiimote PC board with alcohol swaps may fix that, but it is not a task for a novice (you sound like a novice, so I advise against it).. Opening the wiimote and putting it back together again is not easy for a novice to get right without proper instruction.. My advice - search for videos of how to achieve this.
If none of the above work - you probably only have 2 options left..
1. send it for repair (costs almost the same as the price of a new wiimote)
2. buy a new wiimote
~Good luck

Wii remote four lights solid

Sounds like it needs to be re synced with the system, Easy place batteries in Wiimote and turn on console press the red sync button in the back of the Wiimote and press the red sync button on the console it is now synced. If this fails it could be that the Wiimote has failed, if Wiimote had failed within warranty period of 90days from date of purchase return for repair or replacement if it is after warranty period discard and replace with a new Wiimote.

I cannot get a cursor on the menu screen of my wii. i can access the menu screen, but I can't select the game.

Sounds like you haven't syncronized you wiimote to your console. - Turn on Wii - Press the red sync button behind hatch on wii front. - Press red sync button behing batterry hatch on wiimote. That should be the hard part. Possibly you can be required to access. To do the pressing of button 1 & 2 at the same time to reconnect. But red buttons are for initial sync.

How do i use the controller to start the game

okay.. to turn the wii on through the wiimote hold the power button on the top left? corner of the wiimote.. that will turn the wii on..
if the controller just wont respond at all to the wii then you need to sync it to the wii.. this can be done by pressing the red dot on the back of the wiimote with the batteries, and also press the red rectangle on the wii behind the hinged flap in the front (where the sd cards go)..

Wii controller wont pick up guitar controller. The guitar has the wii remote, and have plugged the vocals into USB - it picks up the mic for vocals but not the guitar

Make sure that you've synced the Wimote with the Wii. you can do this by pressing the red button on the wii by the SD Card slot and press the red button on the Wiimote under the battery cover. You can also sync the Wiimote's by pressing the home button, clicking on the Wiimote on the screen, and then clicking Reconnect the Wiimotes I believe. When doing this, just hold down the 1 and 2 button. If your Wiimotes don't need to be sync then theres most likey something wrong with your Guitar Hero Guitar. that's the only other possible outcome I think. Unless then Nunchuck hookup is somehow broken. Doubtful though. Those Wiimotes are FEIRCELY strong. My dog, who can chew though a hard plastic chair, could only leave dents in the Wiimote he chewed on. (Bad Dog!) Hope you get it working!

Guitar hero guitar issues...

If it makes the sound but you still get credit for it. you can hit the Home button on the Wiimote, Click on Wii Remote Settings. Then just turn the volume all the way down.

If you think there is an issue. Try playing with a different WiiMote, Or Consider replacing the guitar.

The wiimote wont turn on at all

Please check this first. Open the battery cover of the dead Wiimote then press the red sync button. If 4 indicators are flashing you may do the following steps.

(1)Use a normal Wiimote to be the #1 controlloer
(2)Enter any Wii game which supports 2 or more controllers
(3)When the game's title screen is displaying, add up the 2nd controller by pressing the red button of Wiimote and the red button of Wii (i.e. standard sync procedure)
(4)If you are lucky, the dead Wiimote will be back to work

Remotes

When the lights are blinking like that, it's indicating the battery level, and also indicates that the wiimote is not connected to the wii. Replace the batteries in the one with the left light blinking and see what happens. Try turning off the wii, and pressing the power button on one of the wiimotes. It should turn on the wii and then the far left light will turn solid. Then press a button on the second wiimote and it should connect. If it doesn't, press home on the first wiimote, go to the settings at the bottom, and click Reconnect. Then follow the onscreen instructions and the problem should be solved.
