I do not recomend that you try to adjust the bottom tension at all, that will cause you alot of problems usually. If your having trouble with the stitches, have you tried an new needle, re-thread and make sure that the thread is seated in both thop and bottom tensions

My bobin thread gets tangled and loose

have you checked the tension? In the older machines you could adjust the thread tension by tightening the screw on the side of the bobin case. With alot of the newer machines you have to lift out the bobbin and then lift out the casing to adjust the screw on the underside of the casing.

I have a Husqvarna Viking 100. How do I adjust the bobbin tension?

U do not recomend that you adjust the bobin tension, what do you have the top tension set at? It should be between 3 and 4, have you put in a new needle? Also, check to make sure the thread is 'seated' right between the tension disc, if you stil have a problem then your machine is out of time.

Thread is very loose on the bottom of the fabric and i do not know how or where to adjust the tention, thanks Patti

Don't mess with the tension, start over and rethread the top of the machine, I suspect that you don't have the tread seated in the tension disc properly. If that doesn't work then reset the bobin and make sure that is in properly.

How do I tighten the tension on the bobin thread I am quitiing with invisible thread on the top and dark blue on the bottom, the bobin thread shows. I don't want that

you can either increase the bottom tension or reduce the top tension .. you will notice a little screw on the bobin case ... that screw adjusts the force on a small flat spring which provides the bottom tension (the thread goes under the spring when properly threaded) .. .. tighten that screw a little to increase bottom tension .. you can pull thread thru the bobin case to get a feel for how much tension you have ... you dont have to turn the screw very far to make a significant difference .. try just 1/4 of a turn at a time .. remember where it was originally set so you can put it back when you are finished with your present project .. the greater the bottom tension the less bobin thread will show at the top ... if you get the tension too high then you might see some puckering as you sew ..

Trying to embroider with the Husqvarna Viking Designer I and the thread either bunches up on bottom or pulls bobbin thread up through design giving a white design What can be the problem

your tension sounds like it is off. i had that problem on my husqvarna diamond and had to take it in to be reset. my tensions were off by 1/4 inch. hope this helps. also did you take out your bobin and bobin tray and clean it good. make sure there is no lint in there.

Good Morning: My wife has a Husquvarna Viking 320 Electronic Sew Easy. I have tried to re-work the bobin and the thread through the needle. When she stiches the hem on a pair of blue jeans it stiches...

since you are doing jeans it can be on either side so lets start for the beginning, rethread the top thread making sure that the thread went through the upper tension, second remove the bobbin and make sure to thread it through the lower tension(there is a spot on the bobbin case for the thread to go through for there to be tension on the bottom) if the thread on the bottom pulls really easy by hand like there is no resistance then take it to a local dealer and have him adjust it if it feels like there is a pull do the same with the upper thread put the foot down and try to pull the upper thread(don't break a needle) if it has tension adjust the upper thread tension tighter

Lower thread tension is too loose but no adjustment seems to work

From your description it appears that you have tried tension settings on the upper tension control adjustment knob without success.
Check that the bobin tension is adjusted correctly by taking out the bobin complete with the spool.
Pull the cotton thread and it should be a smooth light pressure if the tension is correct. If it is tight to pull or pulls freely then adjust the tension screw which is found on the outside of the bobbin. The screw is very small and requires a minature size screwdriver. The adjustment will only be a slight turn of the screw one way or the other to obtain the correct tension(depending if it was loose or tight).
Once this is set reinstall the bobin and tread up the machine, hopefully with the upper tension set at approx."2" the machine will sew correctly.
