Remove the brass bolt (main jet) that holds the carburetor bowl on (don't lose the external washer with it) and clean it extremely well. Use no metal objects on this part. It has very small holes in the bottom and sides. Clean until nice and shiny and reinstall.

When did you last have it serviced? What engine is fitted to your machine? Dies it have a munual choke, primer or auto choke? Any of these can go wrong if not regularly serviced

It won't start.

Prime away... on a chainsaw it does NOT squirt fuel into carb. It draws fuel from tank, through carb, and returns it to tank.
Using the choke however will flood it in a second once it has fired. with a good fuel supply, 99.5 % of chainsaw won't start problems are flooded. Lou

Sounds like you need to pull out the spark plug and put some fuel directly into the cylinder to get it fired up.

May have moisture in the fuel. Try draining the old fuel out, put in new, add Stabil, or some other fuel stabilizer, clean & gap plug. Should start.

I have a 25cc Craftsman Blower/Vac model 358.794941 which will not start. I have replaced the spark plug and carburetor. This is 2 years old and not even 10 hours on it.

hi

if you have compression and spark(a blue one) try priming the engine, put some gas in the sparkplug hole and start the engine.if it fires only the gas you putted inside there is a delivery problem to find and fix(carburator and hoses.

HB-180 Leaf blower won't start

if its flooded then it surly wont fire, not a 2-stroke. are you over priming or is there a malfunction. remove plug, put plug not a tester in the end of lead, ground, and pull. spark should be purple and consistent. if red/yellow/intermitent. change he plug. if the engine is only flodding on its own then the needle and seat could be stuck open in the carb, gas tank vent in fuel cap plugged and building tank pressure, or fuel mixed too rich. let me know what you find

Wont start

Start with emptying the gas tank totally. Refill with fresh gas/oil mix. Todays gasoline ain't that great.
Also after putting in fresh gas and priming if it doesn't fire at all pull the spark plug and if it is dry, pour a about a tbsp. of mix gas in the plug hole. put the spark plug back in and see if it will fire.

2004 nissan titan...ran out of gas

Good chance that even on 4 gallons it may not start I would try for more, prime the fuel pump several times by turning the key on and leaving it on for around 5 seconds then shutting it off and repeating, obviously not trying to start. I've had cases where even small FWD cars won't start even on 4 gallons on a 12 gallon tank. The newer fuel pumps are a closed system that only allow a small portion of fuel into the pump housing to keep contamination down. Let me know if after adding a few more gallons it won't start we will trouble shoot from there. Thank you for using fixya.com
