go to Craigslist site and follow instructions to open account

* Click on "My Account" on the left side of the Craigslist homepage.
* Log in to your account by typing your email or Craigslist handle and password into the corresponding text box. Press "Log In."
* Click on the "Manage" link located to the left of to all "Active," "Pending" and "Expired" posts. Click on "Delete" at the top of each post to remove the posting from Craigslist. All posts must be deleted to remove your account.
* Click on the "Settings" link at the top of the page. Choose the "Change" link located after your email address.
* Scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on the "Help" email address listed. This will open a new email message in your default email program.
* Write a brief message stating you would like your Craigslist account canceled.
* Wait for an account cancellation response from the Craigslist customer support team or for the account to naturally expire from inactivity.

It does not give you an option to delete your account on craigslist. I think you can email [email protected] to ask them to delete your account. Make sure to provide your account info like your email address you used to create your user on craigslist.

Craigslist no long allows you to send email via their site. This is probably because of abusers sending spam.

So now, when you hit the reply button it will show an email address you can cut and paste. Generally, it is already highlighted and you can just press control-C. Then, on your mail application which is totally separate from craigslist, you can paste this email address into the "to" field to send the email.

you need to have your email set up with the service provider that you have for your internet. contact them and they will explain how to set it up
