Hi

Your motherboard has to be replaced ASAP.and you also need a new video card or best still you can also consider buying a new system if that wouldn't be a problem

There is some info here http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1282336625646+28353475&threadId=1260549
Looks like you are looking at $400 for a replacement.
If that is the case, it would probably cost less to buy a new laptop/2nd user and sell your broken laptop on a site like ebay for repairs, plenty of people looking for replacement parts

Hope this is of some help, even if it is not the best of news.
Good luck

99% sure you have suffered a motherboard failure. This particular failure is common for the DV series of HP laptops. There is an Nvidia chip that sits next to the processor and this chip is resposible for many things that go on with that particular laptop and in laymens terms....the solder that binds the connections of that chip to the motherboard comes loose from excessive heat that builds up in these models. The motherboard needs to be "Re-Flowed" in order to complete the connections once again. Do-it-yourselfers have been doing it with a heatgun and there are several videos of this on youtube. I have even done successfully 75% of the time.

How do I locate the video card in HP Pavillion 15.4 6000

The video card is what your monitor is plugged into. If it's plugged into the motherboard then your video card is built in and can't be removed or replaced which is one of the drawbacks to proprietary systems like HP. You can plug another video card into one of the slots in the motherboard assuming you have the right video card to fit the slot in the motherboard. IE PCIE, PCI, AGP.

If you cant get to the BIOS or SET-UP screen (and your sure you have power) then you have to have it checked with a P.O.S.T .card (you can find them on ebay for about $20

There is a known problem with the video card in this machine, certain models are covered by an extended HP warranty.  Symptoms are overheating and finally not starting at all.

At start up the screen is blank except for a no signal message

You might wanna try to buy a video card and hook it into a PCI port, sometimes the Integrated video modules fail but the rest of the motherboard works.
