Vista hangs up intermittently - HP Compaq dc5100 Microtower PC Desktop

Try to update the USB driver to 2.0 first then the drivers to the WUSB54GSC..

Probably you will have to upgrade your drivers, specially power management.

often in vista installation, you have an option to install a driver, and then you put your driver disk in the drive and the Sata driver is installed. Then vista will install as it should . Give it a try..

I don't think the program is compatible with Vista. Were you running Vista when it worked a year ago ?

if you are reinstalling from a dvd...its just probably having trouble in reading the files from the disc...try another disc...and also ..try to format the C partition before loading files...it might recognize some old files...and misguide itself..

Normally it would be as simple as queing and sending faxes but there are times when the problem is the line to the internet. If that goes very slow at some point during the send there is a chance that the modem will hang. Check if you are able to get on the internet with no problems for about an hour. How long do you notice the faxes going before it hangs. Also which actually hangs the third party software or the modem itself. You can test the internet by downloading a file see if it hangs up or becomes very very slow.

Yes it is possible. Jus wipe off vista first.
